Heisman was still considered more of a career achievement award

He had a great 2001 season. Not sure what happened to him in 2002.

Spurrier left for the NFL. Had to learn a new offense under Zook. When he got frustrated with the new offense, he would audible into old Spurrier plays and throw to the guys he was comfortable with. New players that didn’t understand the old plays would get confused and blow assignments.

Chuck Long almost won it over Bo Jackson. Let that sink in.

Darren McFadden got screwed.

The Heisman has sucked starting with giving it to archie griffin twice.

They lost me there, and I didn't have a dog in the fight.

It's a joke.

He was a great college quarterback. If there was an award for the biggest prick or most significant smug a-hole, he would have won each ...undisputed! There has never been a more arrogant jackass in all of football, both before and aster Rex Grossman. His “accomplishments” in the NFL were well deserved.

Scoring those rushing touchdowns vs Kansas and Texas Tech was so impressive though?

Why you still mad at Grossman? Was he more arrogant than Cam or Manziel?

Or are you just mad Grossman swept y’all back in 2000?

Rexy was the best player in college football that year. Rece Davis was beside himself that he didn't win it. If not for 9/11 that delayed the UF-UT game, Florida probably beats Tennessee in September and wins the national title that year. He would have won it. But his failed 2 point conversion attempt against Tennessee in November or December whenever it was gave it to the overrated corn dude.

I mean...Bo Jackson was good in 1985 but let's not act like his numbers were eye-popping like those of Barry Sanders in 1988. Jackson finished with just under 1,800 yards rushing, averaging 6.4 yards per carry. He scored 17 TDs. Chuck Long passed for almost 3,000 yards while throwing 26 TDs and completing nearly 66% of his passes in an era where passing the ball like that was considered well above average.

I'm with Roscoe on this one. I usually like Florida QBs, especially DW and TT, but Grossman made some jackleg, classless comments about my Tigers in 2000 that got him on my dislike list.

And FYI, for those touting his 2001 accomplishments, I think his four interceptions against an average Auburn team (to whom he lost, btw) who was playing three backups on defense had more to do with him not getting the Heisman than anything else.

And those 30 mph winds didn’t help him in that game either. First time in my life I was begging Spurrier to run the ball

Good memory! I watched the ending of that game with my boys not too long ago, and they replayed that final kick about 10 times because they couldn't believe it. Duval started that kick about 15 feet outside the right hash because of that wind!
