Reminder: Auburns last back to back 10 win seasons

1988-89. That’s pathetic considering how many games are played now. On a positive note, I think they might actually have an adult leading the program now. I hope I’m wrong on that as I thought the same when LSU hired Kelly.

They've been in the national championship conversation three times since Tennessee last won a title. It could definitely be worse.

A 3-point loss to South Florida is what kept them from back-to-back 10 win seasons in 2006-2007. Or, the 3-point loss to Georgia Tech in '05 (the Yellow Jackets finished 7-5 that season). Without it, they would have been back-to-back in '05-'06.

The Vols would be 2003-2004 so it isn't like you are in much of a position to trash talk.

Not only is that the last time they had back to back 10 win seasons, it's also the only time they ever did I believe.
Kinda crazy, especially considering 10 wins isn't even THAT big of a deal anymore.

You left off the even more insane part of that- it's the ONLY time.
That statistic is one that doesn't get talked about nearly as much as it should. For someone like vandy? Ok whatever who cares. But AU is a big 6 program that has historically won at a fairly alright clip. Considering we went to 12 regular season games almsot 3 decades ago, and nowadays you coudl play 15+ games in a season, the fact they have only won 10 games back-to-back ONE TIME in their entire 130+ year history is simply mind blowing. You'd almost have to attempt to fail to reach that mark.

For years we played Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and LSU every single year. We didn't have permanent opponents in Vanderbilt and Kentucky every year like Alabama and Georgia. We swap out Florida for Vanderbilt (in the 80's, 90's and 00's) and we have several more 10 win seasons. Sorry we didn't all play p*ssy schedules.

That, and trailing Vandy H2H simply do not reconcile with the historical stature of our football program. Really is crazy when people like Coach Drink are going to b2b in 23 and 24. That said, unbalanced schedules is certainly a bit of a factor here.
