Yea it wasn't a great call. But with 2 strikes, that's close enough to take the bat off your shoulder.

I did, I didn't see who said it though.

are you talking about the call at 3rd or another one? The call at 3rd was the correct call.

amazing how this Kennesaw team has moved up into D1 after all these years and slowly made a name for themselves...
North Atlanta suburbs High School/AAU Baseball is crazy good. OWLS are on the Rise.

They made it a mile further than I thought they would. Thought the were a 2-and-done team in this regional, especially when they were paired with Florida State on Saturday.
They did a good job getting back off the mat and representing the SEC.

Regardless of a bad call here and there, when you play a game and
you really aren't helping yourself. I'd be royally pissed at that last call, but 13 stranded runners is a ton.

i dont know what play you are talking about since you didnt answer the question. But this kid is out. He slid his hand into the foot.

Did you miss the blown call a few innings ago?
If you're talking about the play at 3rd I thought it was the right call... The defender had his foot in front of the bag and the runner slid into it and didn't touch before the tag came down.. Either way... Good season Bama and congrats to Kennesaw.
In other news, all 4 Rebel batters barreled up the Washington starter in the 1st... Always a good sign.

Yeah it was horrible. He had not called anything at the knees the entire game and then calls a pitch 3 inches off the plate inside at the ankles. You should never be that visible as an umpire.

Agree Bama lost it but you dont end a game on a call that bad.

next time we don't host, hope we get sent to FSU.

id you miss the blown call a few innings ago? Kennesaw had a run taken from them. Bad call balances out a bad call and you're left with an evenly officiated game
A bad call shouldn't end the game, though. Plate umps have too much power over the game to begin with.

There's some dirt in the air there. I could have sworn on the replay his hand got in there but I only saw it once. Umpire is in great position to see it.

For years all the kids from Barrow to Cobb that didn't go to UGA, Tech, or another D1 out of state would end up at Kennesaw out of HS or after a short stint at GaPerimeter. They've always had a ton of local talent. And with the growth of that University (both academically absorbing SPSU and athletically starting its Football program) it's going to blow up soon. Their Baseball stadium is hardly a high school stadium but I'd expect some big things to start happening at that campus now that teams are performing and enrollment increases.
