I believe Keith Marshall signs with UGA and starts from Day One. Everything I hear and read about Marshall sounds positive. UGA should do it and not look back.

Marshall does sound like he has his head on straight and since he is enrolling early he should be in game shape by the time the season rolls around. Hopefully he picks the Dawgs next week.

I've also heard really positive things about the other RB who is leaning Georgia, Gurley.

Someone told me they tried to get him to wear a different # so smith could get some PT on offense and he flat refused?

And beatbammer is right this kids rep around Columbus is absolutely terrible.

Yeah he's a stone cold lock to come here, but I was just so excited about him and Crowell playing together. That's a pretty lethal combo, and Marshall even said he'd like to split carries with someone.

Don't you think ya'll will sign another RB? Or is there a one-and-done deal with Marshall?

One of MArshall's good friends is another RB named Gurley. So those two would be the incoming freshmen with Samuel,Thomas, and malcome also being in the mix next year

what shite has he pulled as the season went along? and who is the #2?

This is all rumor but here' a post from someone supposedly in the know...

quote:

The seniors, lead by Ben Jones, have had at least 3 violent "chats" with Crowell about his skipping class, being late for therapy, cursing GA's, Coach BM, Professors, other players, and a team Doc.

IC smells like weed about 90% of the time, his clothes reek of ganja, his room stinks like a Kingston traffic cab, and he is glassy eyed in the few classes he attends.

there are reports he is not passing any classes, at all, none, despite all the tutors that he tries to intimidate and fight.

CMR is aware and is sick of the punk. IC's teammates want him gone. McGarity wants him gone.

Some players say it is almost impossible for Crowell to be eligible for spring ball.

Makes me glad he didn't make the final pre-season WDE24's Top 5 SEC RBs. I hate to have poor representatives of such a distinguished honor.

He should come to UF, he'd fit right in with the last couple of recruiting classes we have had.

If Marshall is the real deal (and I think he will be), then Crowell should be dropped like yesterday's bad news. I guess the only consideration in accomplishing that would be how it would effect recruiting relationships at Carver/Columbus.

Does this story lend legitimacy to the rumor that Richt is "soft" on players? Not trying to flame but shouldn't the coach of a DIV 1 school be able to motivate a player?

That's not true. First of all, we use BSmith on offense MAYBE 2 or 3 times a game, so the whole thing is a non-issue from the start. Second, the coaches asked both players what they thought, and Smith said that he wouldnt' mind changing numbers and would gladly do so if the coaches wanted him to. They didn't ask him to, so he didn't. End of story there.

This is really a shame. IC has run for 800+ yards despite missing a third of the season.... And when he is in, he has the stamina of a little bitch. If he got his attitude right an realized Georgia football is not about him, he might be leading the SEC in rushing. Instead, looks like there are serious questions about whether he'll be here next year. In hindsight, I think Richt's little recruiting gimmick - that empty tailback lineup - was a huge mistake. From day one, it sent the message that he was the shite. He took that forgranted and hasn't even bothered trying to earn the respect of his teammates.

Oh well, looks like we're headed for another bust at RB. :bangshead:

I've heard the same things from some UGA buddies. Just watching him go through the warmups at Tech last weekend he was just walking. I've also heard he is struggling with his classes very badly.
