Yeah, nevermind that he was recruited by Kelly and played for Kelly for 4 years, and coached for him immediately afterwards. It’s obvious he just hates Brian Kelly.

What was he, Saban’s 5th or 6th choice?

I think it’s funny that Saban now has to go after Brian Kelly’s old coordinators lol

Yep, I’m sure I’d rather work for Nick Saban because he’s old and worn out. Don’t have quite the bite nowadays kind of like watching Bobby Bowden on his farewell tour

LSU trying to snag Notre Dame's coordinators in wake of Kelly hire

BATON ROUGE - LSU is making moves to bring over more of Brian Kelly's staff from Notre Dame as the Tigers introduce their new head football coach on Tuesday.

The Athletic reported Tuesday that LSU was in contact with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman in an effort to lure them away from the Fighting Irish. Reports said Kelly was helping with efforts to recruit his former assistant coaches.

Yes, they were both coming to LSU if Freeman didn't get the HC job.

I don't think Rees liked working for Freeman as much as he thought he would.

LSU dodged a bullet with Rees and Bama just opened its mouth and swallowed it.

Thank god we hired the OC who helped Kelly kick Bama’s arse in Year 1.

He wants to work for Saban. Rees knows he can learn from Saban, Freeman and little Brian don’t have much to offer in that category.

Makes perfect sense.

So you’re happy with the hire? Can you tell me what about Rees’ offenses excite you the most?

I would agree.

Rees has already learned everything he can from Kelly and working with Saban just adds another feather to his cap.

Plus there is a lot more talent at Alabama at this point than there was at LSU last year so there's more margin for error.

Shouldn't Ga. fans be worried about keeping Monken?

Or is Kirby calling the offense next Year?
