Is there a rule that allows recruits the opportunity to leave a program and not lose eligibility if a school is put on probation or worse?

I think, judged on a case-by-case basis, it's possible.

Not being specific for any school. I was just wondering! It's really a shame if these kids end up suffering for this. I have no ulterior motives in asking. Just a honest question that I didn't know the answer to! Jeez!

I think if they are put on probation then kids can transfer without sitting out.

That's exactly what happened to Penn State in 2012.

Butch Jones takes your recruits at will.

these kids taking thier money during the recruiting process is why they are going on probation. I have no sympathy for these kids as they are part of problem and really the reason they are getting hammered.

Yeah, it's the kids fault. Those poor adult boosters and administration members have been victimized.

it's both of thier faults dude. if you know you are causing violations during your recruiting process and decide to go anyways you are taking the risk of playing for a sanctioned team. should have been a bigger person and not taken the cash.

I 100% agree that these guys should be allowed to transfer if they were lied to. That would be an absolute shitty thing to do and the school should step in if the athletic department won't do it. That being said, the football team has been self imposing penalties and there doesn't seem to be a big concern that any of these violations by freeze are serious. If they're wrong or lying, we deserve whatever penalty we're given and the kids shouldn't have to pay for it. But at the end of the day this report doesn't say if these are serious violations and we won't know until everything comes out.

Let's see, we have at least two scholarships left and we just happen to need a quarterback and a linebacker!!

I would feel the same way if LSU were involved in the same.
