I trust Greg Byrne to make the right hire given what Alabama has to offer.

What can Alabama offer that any other big program cant?

The chance to follow the greatest coach ever and live in his shadow?

I mean they could lose 25 years straight to lsu and still have a winning record over them

What does that have to do with anything?

Can’t have what both ways? You are acting like 4 years of poor coaching is the sole reason Bama is behind. We just won a national championship with the worst HC in Ole Miss’s history. You’ve had the GOAT college coach for far longer than we did

That had more to do with Byrne. He was able to get Mullen to Starkville but also failed in hiring Rich Rod at Arizona. Convincing a coach to come to Alabama will be an easier task.

It amazes me how you guys shite on O. He evolved as a coach from those days and is obviously better now.

What's the other program?

In general, a desire to win and the resources to make it happen.

Because you're intimating, saban was not in Baton Rouge in 2005, 2006, and 2007..............

Any of the more successful programs these days.

They all have resources and pretty sure they desire to win.

Ok then,
Since you people love to talk in historical terms also, LSU -
""""""""""""""""""" B E F O R E """"""""""""""""
the year 2000,.....
was TWELFTH all-time nationally in number of NCAA victories, and 9th in bowl appearances..
(we are now closing in on 11th in victories and 7th in bowl apps.)

Actually in 2000, a1abama was only 5th in all-time victories.

He could be.

But Chiz got Cam as a one year deal. He took advantage of a roster full of Tubs players.

O got Burrow, had a good season, improved the offense and built that team. Whether he can sustain without Brady is yet to be seen. Chiz's downfall (2012) started when Gus left.

I don't think that's really true.

Take Texas for example. They will tell you how quick they are the richest program and that they can hire any coach they want and blah blah blah.

But they never actually do it. Alabama does it. Made Saban the highest paid coach to get him, built the facilities he wanted, even bought a house for him etc.

And according to LSU fans, we've been buying off the refs for 7 of the past 8 years.

Tom Herman was a pretty hot coaching prospect, it hasnt really worked out but they still went for it.

And you struck gold. Coaching hires are a crapshoot. How many shitty guys did you have before you landed on Saban?

6-9. 4 Semifinals: Washington, Michigan State, Clemson, Oklahoma

10-11. 2 Georgia SEC Championships: 2012 & 2018

12. 1 LSU: 2018

13. 2009 Virginia Tech

14-15. 2 Arkansas: 2010 and 2011

16. Ole miss the year they won the Sugar Bowl
