It was a big mistake for the SEC to try to create a rivalry, they tried without understanding the dynamics of the state. We don't hate Missouri, hell most of us go up there to vacation. Love going to KC, Branson etc.. we are all the Ozarks.. there was basically little to know history between the schools.. it just didn't make sense.
Then putting them as the last game of the season, terrible decision. Arkansas just checked out, year over year. It would have been far better making it the first game of the season.
They are just now righting this ship.

Spoken like an Arkansas fan. And every game was lost as the result of officiating…same as all other losses.

The SEC screwed Arkansas over by moving the LSU game and they rolled over the red carpet for the Aggies.

They wouldn't do that to SEC royalty.
That angered many hog fans. Don't know about LSU, I guess they either don't care or glad that it was moved.
The Missouri game should have been moved up in September when Arkansas was fresh and had yet not quit. Instead they put it as the last game when Missouri had plenty to play for and Arkansas had already quit three games before.
Arkansas doesn't like the Missouri game as a replacement because it was a lazy job by the SEC and they forced it on Arkansas.

I hear ya, it also can rain like a sumbitch with temps still hovering around 30 and then dropping (with ice to follow).... give me the snow anytime over rain / wind / bitter cold! I definitely recall some cold/windy games, but not too many.

I didn't like the Missouri game replacing LSU game on black Friday, primarily because it was usually interesting and having in-laws that are LSU fans. But it's really ridiculous for fellow Hogs fans to insinuate that lack of interest or where the game was on the schedule has anything to do with them owning us since they came to the SEC (hell, who hasn't over the last 15 or so years?). We've had 9 losing seasons, and only 2 seasons with 8+ wins, in the past 16 years. Sure, there are some years where the team may have let go of the rope by the time Missouri game came along, but that's more a testament to how soft our program has become than anything else. They beat us 10 times out of 12 since joining. They have been the better team, simple as that. Hopefully, Silverfield will get the resources he needs and can turn things around. Only time will tell.

Arkansas should get the win this season because Drinkwitz has had the team heading the wrong way ever since beating OSU. Don't forget about Sam Pittman saying "I don't know what to do?" is the proof that he wasn't suited to be a HC.

But who else was Mizzy going to play at the end of the year before OU joined?
It had to be a rivalry just like the SEC forced Arkansas/LSU to fight at Thanksgiving. Atm/LSU made pretty good sense.
There was no other option.
I think the SEC got it wrong now.
While they got Texas AM-Texas correct,
I think Arky-Mizz should be rivalry weekend and that LSU should be a permanent with OU.
But it didn’t go that way.

LSU has owned the series but it was still very interesting because players had something to play for. Better bowl games, BCS bowls, an SEC West title and an appearance in Atlanta. LSU didn't get up for the game unlike Arkansas.
The Missouri game is different. The season is already over for Arkansas but Missouri plays harder because they have more on the line and can't afford to slip up.
