If he isn't "right for his specific time and place", then what does that say for the rest of the SEC coaches?

that they aren't at the best program in CFB history, mainly.

I think he's a very solid coach but I have to admit seeing Bama get pantsed 3 straight times has dropped my opinion of him.

I give him credit though for fighting back & beating Oklahoma. Also a lot of credit for coming in prepared the other two games against UGA and for beating 3-4? straight ranked teams this year.

The people acting like he's a pansy/failure are just a bunch of morons

I think the whole staff is soft. It shows from top down too.

He's a good coach who will probably win 9+ games every year. I don't know that he'll ever get over the top with Grubb as OC. It's very hard to win a championship with a shitty running game. And Grubb always has a shitty running game.

He doesn't have that toughness to make it in the SEC or at Alabama.

His teams are not physically or mentally tough.

Cignetti knows nothing about coaching those types of attitudes being paid the way they are being paid now. He’s coaching kids with a chip on their shoulder looking to prove something. Not millionaire 5 stars who only show up in front of the camera.

He's a good coach but he needs more time to harden enough for the SEC. Unfortunately LSU has been no issue for him lol, but he's not SEC material overall in my opinion.
At this point, I'd agree.
He'll have to do the nearly impossible......harden his personality, and instill a little respectful fear into both players and assistants.
The one thing that both Saban and Bryant did was to meet with the player and the parents together, and make it known to EVERYONE what he expects from his players, why he expects it, and how it will benefit the player, and if he/they aren't prepared to give it, then Alabama won't be the place for them.
It's amazing the effect that conversation has on the type of player and his family that The Tide is looking for.
PS- If the player and/or family aren't happy with the coaches position, then EVERYONE will be fortunate that he didn't come to Tuscaloosa!

Dont expect him to have a dominant run game.

I'd be happy with respectable.

Really good coach following the very worst coach he could ever follow.
His demeaner is not what Saban's was, but is it a detriment?
Seems he can keep the recruiting rolling.
He has had a level of success at Bama that is better than most schools could hope for.
Really want to see what he can do with a roster of Alabama level talent that is 100% his.

Interested to see how Cig does after this season when all of those 24 year old COVID year guys and his Heisman QB are gone. I don't think it's sustainable.

I saw someone on the 'Bama board saying we should adopt this process instead of bringing in highly rated recruits. It just made me laugh. Talent with good coaching has overcome mid talent with great coaching for the majority of college football's existence. The jimmy's and joes still matter.

Very good coach and will win a lot of games at Bama and have Bama in the playoffs regularly. He just has to understand finesse in the SEC wont work and he has got to coach a physical brand of football. Yall will do good with him if you give him time.

But also had some embarrassing blowouts.

Well, he's made it into the bama record books and not in the way bama fans are accustomed to.

The fact that he had the balls to follow Saban says a lot about him. A lot of coaches would rather be "the guy after the guy" that followed Saban.

part of the inevitable Bama decline.

Bama finished number 1 in the sec for the regular season, made the 2nd round of the playoffs all with the worst running game possible. If that is a decline then most of the SEC teams would love a decline like that.

Soft. Just like at Washington, has a habit of playing to level of competition.

You won't see any mentions of wolves or dominating out of him.

I think Kalen DeBoer is a fantastic coach and Bama should be thanking their lucky stars to have him.

Before next fall, he should have a statue a half block down from Saban's.

Don't do anything but sit back and watch him cook.
