Less talented teams still win the East on occasion

Well, they don't win the west, that's for sure.

Last west championship for LSU? 2011.

UGA still loses big games just like they did under Richt. UGA fans are the ones dancing around that fact and trying to spin it to something else.

UGA is 2-2 in “big games” under Smart.

You guys like numbers right? So calculate the talent level on average of a Miss State team under Mullen (you can even do his best team in 2014) to the talent Kirby has.

You literally just said in a conversation with djs, that you don't put stock into ratings for recruits.

I don't put much on stars as most people do.

People forget Spurrier didn't exactly recruit at UF like UGA is recruiting with Kirby.

And

I've seen many 4 and 5 stars flame out and become busts at UF. I don't know what else to say

A star is a paper statistic.

So, how do we compare talent levels if not by stars? And if stars are not indicative of a players talent, then Mullen should have had killer teams getting all of the hidden gems that were woefully undervalued.

Mullen for the most part has worked at a severe talent disadvantage compared to Kirby, and to Kirby’s credit, he’s a much better recruiter - anyone disputing otherwise is an idiot.

But Georgia cannot do the same?

Absolutely not. We are the only team in which talent has to remain dormant and never improve.

All I'm saying is Kirby needs to show it when it matters; on the field. When he does that I'll concede that UGA made the right hire to win national titles.

Georgia has a great team and has a very good coach, by far the best team in the East and perhaps the 2nd best team in the SEC and one could argue the best SEC team.

Kirby has turned the program in a positive direction and judging a program solely on winning a national title is tunnel vision.

Is Georgia beatable, yes and if they were in the SEC West then they would have a struggle going undefeated but so would any team in the country including Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and all the other good teams.

Right now the bar is set by Alabama and Clemson has closed the gap but Georgia is gaining ground and may very soon be among the leaders.

Yea because the Outback,Music City and Peach Bowls are the EXACT same thing as a Rose Bowl,Sugar Bowl and a NC game.

You've yet to make one coherent post on this thread.

Based on the LSU fans in this thread, I’d venture to say that this statement is false.

I don't know about far and away better but I'd take UF's WRs this year over ours. Although I think our freshman wideouts will stand out going forward.

I'll take our TE over any on UF's but yall have a solid group and we're severally lacking depth so I'd take UF's situation right now.

I don’t disagree. He needs to be better as a recruiter because you cannot simply lose 5 or 6 players from a class after signing day. That is not acceptable.

To answer the OP, there is a very big gap in the trenches. Most East games UGA plays are bloodbaths up front.

That doesn’t mean UGA is unbeatable in the East, but the other teams are working from a big deficit there.
