Pretty shitty all around

1.Tennessee over FCS Austin Peay 30-13 – less than 20 years ago, Peay actually went non-scholarship Pioneer League for a while. They are not good by any FCS standards. Vols, this was terrible.

2.Kentucky 28-17 over a historically good FCS Eastern Kentucky from down the interstate like 30 miles or something.

3. Mizzou over Middle Tennessee by 4 points. Not good.

4. Arkansas 28-6 over a pretty bad MAC team, Kent State. Not good.

5. Texas A&M, 15 point loss to rebuilding Miami

6. Vandy, 16 point loss to damn good Wake Forest

7. Auburn, scary 14-10 win over Cal Bears

8. Florida 49-7 over decent FCS McNeese State

9. Miss State, 7 point gift over Arizona, who turned the ball over all night

10. Carolina 47-21 over traditionally tough FCS Furman

11. Alabama 10 point loss to an impressive (so far) Texas team
12. LSU 62 point win over awful FCS Grambling

13. Georgia 45-3 sleep walk over Ball State

14. Ole Miss 37-20 over a damn good Tulane team

Thanks for being honest. Yes A&M sucked. But compared to the level of competition others were playing, we were not the worst.

Not even close. I’m worried about Tennessee right now.

Eh if you watch the game our defense created those turnovers they weren’t flukes or a gift

All we need is an accurate and consistent QB. A bad QB screws everything up on both sides of the ball. That guy is on the bench though. Hopefully not for much longer.

A bit more than historically good. Won multiple NCAA Natty's if memory serves. Kind of team you get no credit for beating but can beat you.

Like EKU, seen them in other games and not the "rent a win" folks think

Win is a win but so many ACC losses is the embarrassing part.

So, I actually watched the Tennessee game on YT today. Joe Milton had an off day. The O line played a C minus day at best. The receivers had at least 5 drops and lost a fumble deep in AP territory. The defense did its job but it was Austin Peay.

The Governors played with heart, and I salute their team and their coaching staff. I’m pretty sure Heupel will have the Vols ready to play against Florida. Classic game of playing down to their competition.

Off day is a huge understatement. I agree the oline played badly as well.

And WRs still have to catch anything that touches their hands.

I think they just genuinely have no idea where it's going to be thrown at according to their body's position because Milton is so erratic abd it's messing with their heads and getting them out of rythm.

Hooker pretty much always put it on the money and hit them in stride.

Austin Peay is terrible my friend. Nowhere close to the level of Eastern Kentucky

ETA: well, I take that back somewhat - they have gotten better with that boy wonder new coach

They didn't play to win they played to make it look close by keeping the ball as long as possible purposely going very slow and played dirty asf.

We played like crap but the crooked refs stole at least three TDs away from us and we also fumbled once in the red zone which would have been another easy score.

Austin Peay had some help.

I don’t think I’ve seen a state game where we go from looking like a top 10 team to crap so fast. Defense created 4 turnovers arizonas first 4 possessions and we went up 14-0 with ease. Not taking FG on our first drive and then missed FG on last drive of first half probably kept us from blowing them out. Had it been 20-0 at half they fold and we cruise

I see a good team in us. Potential is there. The problems we had can be corrected I.e coaching decisions and not slacking off in intensity

I’d be more worried if we looked sloppy, didn’t have the playmakers, committed tons of penalties, etc.

I remember our 2014 team looked like shite the first couple games, actually barely got by South Alabama, then started to gel and went on a hell of a run to being ranked 1st.

I see that potential in this team, they could be a 10 win team. It just hinges on the new staff learning from mistakes and the team having confidence in themselves. Rogers needs to lead like Dak did. I think he lacks in that dept where he can really rally the troops intensity wise to step up. If not Will, it needs to be Marks or Tolu.

Their coach is good actually. He is very high energy and you could see his players feeding off it. I was shocked at how gritty, high energy and creative they were on offense tbh. They really came to play like it was their Superbowl or something while our guys just seemed to be going through the motions and sleep walking out there.

If you read the poll from the bottom up, you had the 6th best win

The last is first and the first is last

We actually beat USA 34-3. It was UAB we beat the second game of the season 47-34, and the pass defense looked like poop. Everyone was panicking. We won the aforementioned South Al game, and then proceeded to destroy LSU, A&M, and Auburn.

You forgot to highlight some of the lowlights:
1. 4 turnovers
2. Less than 100 yards passing.
3. Penalties.
4. Giving up sacks.
5. Kick returns from end zone.

I didn't see much of the Tennessee game but I did see Austin P had a linebacker wearing a cowboy collar in 2023.

Everyone knows a cowboy collar increases your speed, agility, intelligence and charisma like 20 base points.

Austin Peay is not a bad FCS school. Not the last few years anyway. They are in a growing city with a nice stadium and decent fan support. It just could be the Vols struggled against a good team.
