I like all of the smaller SEC towns I’ve been to better than the big ones. It sounds like the writer was using some other criteria. Nashville is a great town, but there is nothing special about going to a football game at Vandy. Basketball I would rate them higher because of Memorial Gym.

Nashville
Athens
Auburn
Oxford
Rest of towns are shitholes, especially A&M town. Tuscaloosa also a shite hole. I lived in Baton Rouge - shite hole.
Honestly don’t know about Gainseville so I can’t speak to that. No clue about Kentucky either. Ms. st. - definitely shite hole.

I don't think I was drunk when I had bidness in Columbia, SC. I stayed right next to the university and I thought it was all pretty awesome.

The history of everything outside of campus being an eyesore remains with Tuscaloosa. But it’s night and day from 15 years ago. A ways yet to go, but it’s better than some listed about it on this list.
When I was a student there was nothing downtown now there are bars and restaurants. I stayed downtown last time I was there and was able to walk to dinner

I would too but the criticism is not without some merit. The campus and area around campus are one of the top five in the SEC. The downtown is coming along, its not there yet but I was just there a few weeks ago and the construction and things moving in are awesome. The river is great too. But the rest of the town looks like any other city. Huge caveat on that though. The campus community is growing. It used to stop at 15th street but now it is growing there too.
That makes sense... I went with a friend who lived there who I'm sure more or less shuttled me around the part of town that was cool/fun. It's not like I explored around myself too much.
Again, really wasn't so much of a knock on Gainesville as a "why the hell are Tuscaloosa and Columbia outside the top 10".

I was a student for two degrees from 2001-2006. There was one restaurant and a couple of bars to draw you downtown. Now that’s the place to be. Really makes me jealous.

I have been to all but Columbia, Missouri.
Arkansas sucks as a state. I imagine Fayetteville is so high because the juxtaposition with the rest of Arky makes it look good by comparison, kinda like hanging with an ugly friend to make yourself look better. The town isn't bad, but Baton Rouge, Knoxville, College Station, and Auburn are all better IMO.
Gainesville and Starkville, though, are two of the worst places to exist this side of anywhere. Honestly, I imagine living in Yemen couldn't be much worse than Starkville.
This isn't anti UF bias or SEC shite talking. Those towns just fricking suck.

Fayetteville and most all of northwest Arkansas is legitimate. It’s a great area.

Recently voted one of America’s most livable cities, most of the town’s nightlife (and life in general) centers around the Alabama football program which is one of the greatest in college football history. Playboy Magazine called Tuscaloosa’s Houndstooth Sports Bar the #1 sports bar in the United States and you will not be disappointed making a weekend of it especially during the fall. It’s one of those towns that is just ok and was slightly disappointing once you leave campus.
Would actuallym 100% agree with this. The campus right now, dear lord. A1. Best in the SEC. It's almost out of a movie.
Tuscaloosa? It's pretty "meh." The strip lost a lot of great bars for retail, though, the downtown area when I last visited a few weeks ago was shockingly better. As more of that sweet, sweet out-of-state money comes in, the faster good ole T-Town will continue to improve.

Starkville isn’t a shithole just because your candy arse can’t visit a Whole Foods during a football weekend.

Nashville isn’t a college town
It’s a city that just happens to have a college in it
I agree with these rankings though

Randy is the first here to (not) set the record straight about those mean ole Aggies.

NWA is a nice area. My wife and i drove up from LR for vacation before. I've through most of the SEC West towns and the only one i didnt care for was Baton Rouge, but that's more because of the capitol city than the school. I cant say i thought that highly of the actual AR campus, but that part of the state is cool

Take Auburn off your top 4 and sub in Fayetteville. Auburn is trash

Never cared too much for the campus at Arkansas either. But the town and area is wonderful.

Did a 10 year old do those?
