Arkansas sucks as a state

Amazing how personal experiences can be so different from one another.

I really liked visiting Fayetteville, AR, back in the early '90's. Nice people, great food, and the scenery was beautiful. Easy access to Branston, MO, too. I thought the state, in general, was nice especially the western & northern parts.

College Station - 2010 football game. Did not like it. Compared to Dallas/FW and Austin (which I love both), College Station just doesn't measure up. I went to Lubbock that year too, and would even put that above CS, despite the awful drive.

Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark.

Whoever wrote that dumb fricking article/column just proved they don't know wtf they are talking about with the limited parking around Williams-Brice claim.

It's already been proven that W-B has more parking available within one kilometer radius around Williams-Brice thanks exactly to the fair grounds, the Garnet Way (where the old Farmer's Marker was located), Key Road lots and ETV lots not to mention private lots located everywhere in between.

Who gives a frick about the ranking ... at least they need to get their facts straight.

Exactly SCRooster. I really don't think they've visited most of these places. I'm not shitting you, other than the cool palmetto trees lining the boulevard, my biggest takeaway was that Williams Brice was surrounded by nothing but parking lot and it was odd to me for some reason. Obviously we have a parking lot around Commonwealth Stadium, but then there are huge field areas where folks also set up and tailgate. W-B was just kinda right in the middle of Columbia and you just park and go.

I'll say for a second time...they used a picture of fricking Bardstown KY and then pick Lexington, as next to last. Lexington is a great city and a great time. If the other 12 schools in front of us are that much better, well then frick, more power to ya because you must be kicking some arse, because Lexington is a great time. Starkville, I'm sorry guys....I like you State fans but it really is last legitimately.

Wow a poll by a few rantards masquerading through a seemingly legitimate website.

"Ranking the SEC towns"

They didn't rank "college towns"... They ranked towns that have a college in them... Specifically, an SEC college.

Haven't been there but I've heard nothing but good things about Lexington. What's the deal? I've live in Baton Rouge for a total of 27 years and it's a hole. Too high.

Hell... Williams Brice IS a parking lot... USC football still isn't going anywhere... /badjokeeel...

But yeah... It's clear they didn't exactly do their homework on a few places.

Exactly UKWildcats ... whoever wrote the article is an idiot.

I've been to every stadium in the SEC for at least one game except College Station and I`ve been there for a tour.

They're all good. They're all unique in their own way. They are all good atmospheres, some better than others and size dosen't matter when it comes to SEC stadiums.

Each has its drawbacks and strengths. None have anything like our Cockabooses for instance.

15,700+ game day tailgating parking places within a half mile of the stadium (most in the SEC) according to our Associate AD of Football Facilities. 227 luxury game day condos within 200 yards of the stadium. 22 main luxury Cockabooses immediately outside the stadium, 14 more off of Key Road, 1 (Darius Rucker's) on Shop Road. Nine luxury exclusive tailgating clubs, with parking, within 300 yards. Another set of luxury condos now under construction on Shop Road 500 yards from the stadium.

Whoever wrote the piece is a sham. #FakeNews

It's what we should all detest about these bullshite clickbait sources UKWildcats. They don't do their homework they just sling something against the wall and hope we accept it as honest.

Also, frick Fayetteville.

Used to be a really nice college town. Now, we get every Leftist who moves to NWA to work for the big 3, plus the regular college socialists. Dipshits are trying to ban plastic bags and staws.

Ha ha. Yeah, trash elimination and increased business activity will frick you up.

4. Fayetteville, Arkansas
Known as one of the best towns in the U.S. to retire to, Fayetteville is set in the beautiful Ozark Mountains and features a perfect mix of sports, restaurants and cultural happenings. If you don’t mind hearing the phrase “Woo Pig Sooie” too often then Fayetteville is not a wonderful, if not vastly underrated, place to visit.

The hell is this? It is a college town...screw retirement.

It could be argued that Atlanta is, indeed, a college town.

oh my heavens. No. Atlanta is a large international CITY. It is not a town in any way, and certainly not a "college town".

quote:

Atlanta's home to the College Football Hall of Fame,

so?

quote:

it's the home of Georgia Tech

yes there is a college inside of this massive city. Would you refer to NYC as a college town?

quote:

UGA is 70 miles away

quote:

and all the SEC schools, including NATIONAL schools like USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, etc., have some of their largest alumni bases in Atlanta.

so?

quote:

Both USC and UCLA from the West Coast have very large alumni bases there and viewing parties around Atlanta.

so?

quote:

Within the 6 million+ population of the area, yeah, it could be said Atlanta's a college town.

An area with 6 million people isn't a fricking town

fayetteville and NW Arky isn't as hilly as I thought it was.

Looks more like little plateaus.

The campus itself is hilly as shite, it's a bitch if you have to walk completely across campus.
