Bama had an enrollment of 23,900 in 2006. Enrollment has increased by 14,700 since Saban got to Bama. Not saying the increase has solely been the result of football success, but it is certainly on the periphery of it.

Why is it that Gamecocks and Razorbacks always derail threads?

Bama lowered admission standards and started giving away scholarship money like candy. That's 90% of it.

Average ACT score at Bama is 27. Average ACT score at AU is 27.
Go figure.

Didn't even have to click this thread to know an Auburn fan would spout off about Alabama's growth. You really don't know how someone reacts when they have sand in their vagina until you mention the word "Alabama" around a barner. They'll go off for days about their little brother conspiracies and delusions.

This part is patently false.

This part might well be the only factual thing you've ever posted on TD.

Bama is giving big money to out of state students to prop those numbers up (50% OOS students). Bama is 26 and AU is 27 last year. They are doing it to get the enrollment to the current level, but the balance is very fragile.

Bama is the University of Phoenix of the South.

Alabama hasn't dropped admission standards one iota. Total bullshite.
Robert Witt, who was easily the best president in our history, started recruiting full bore. Bama had just looked at apps as they came in and whoever wanted to go was fine if they qualified. Witt started recruiting nationwide and in affluent communities. Getting students that would give back down the road. Now, that campus doesn't even resemble 20 years ago.
As far as admissions, don't start with that bullshite. If u aren't vandy it's all the same shite. I have a family member who didn't get accepted to the Alabama business school but not only got into aubie but is on a partial scholarship.
