Why not use this? It's simple, official, and rustles the most jimmies.

Can A&M get their 2 that they retro-actively claimed? Did you even think before asking that question? At least Arkansas' title was claimed by the team after their bowl game and by a major selector. Texas A&M claims two based on computer rankings from 40-50 years before Arkansas' championship

Yes. Those weren't the only major polls at the time.

does an arky fan really have any room to talk about fictitious football titles?

Seems they have about as much claim as Arkansas does for 64.

To me its simple: I don't deny Arky's title but I think A&M has three total.
Its all about consistency.

Im old school. Yall gonna realise sooner or later arky is yall rival. I remember the swc. That's why I laugh at yall new generation for being soft with arky. They want your instate recruits but at the same time they want to talk down on the instate teams. Yall gonna learn. And hopefully it's the hard way.

Texas A&M's 2 teams didn't even believe that they had won the championship. Arkansas certainly did.

Because the concept of a national champion barely existed back then.
Meanwhile by the time Arky came along the AP was handing them out which gave a level of legitimacy to that title.

Because unlike some schools (like Georgia), not everyone retroactively claims "titles."
Don't matter. Don't care. What matters is if there is a legitimate claim. And there easily could be a claim. Not even mentioning the 1946 one that also has a legitimate claim. if I were an Auburn fan I would claim that one, too. But I am not and I don't. I only claim titles that my school claims.
And, as far as I know, we were not on probation for either one of them.

Re-ordered thusly for accuracy (notes at the bottom):
((1)) One more NC is more prestigious than 21 extra wins over 125 years, so LSU before UGA.
((2)) If UGA is allowed their retro-active championship from 1942, then Auburn is allowed their retro-active championship from 1913. Starts on Page 108 (LINK) And, yeah, Auburn could validly argue 2 more, but we won't have that discussion here.
((3)) Ole Miss jumps Tex A&M and Arky because Ole Miss is actually an SEC team.
((4)) Arky OP put Arky before Tex A&M on his list? Funny joke!
((5)) Kentucky over Mizzou because they at least have 1 pretend championship and they are better than Mizzou in the sport that Mizzou is most proud of. Plus, Mizzou's conference championships from a shitty conference don't impress me.
((6)) Vandy over USC because Vandy was at least once a mighty power back in their day.
quote:
1) Alabama - Not even going to research: anywhere between 8 and 136 national Championships (The Greatest Program of all-time)
2) Tennessee - 6 National Championships (4 retro-active), 16 Conference Titles, 833 wins
3) LSU - 3 National Championships, 14 Conference Titles, 787 wins ((1))
4) Georgia - 2 National Championships (1 retro-active), 15 Conference Titles, 808 wins (ahead of LSU because of all-time wins)
5) Auburn - 3 National Championships (Could be 5 but they were screwed twice), 12 Conference Titles, 766 wins ((2))
6) Florida - 3 National Championships, 8 Conference Titles, 714 wins (Number of Conference Titles put them below Auburn)
7) Ole Miss - 3 National Championships (2 retro-active), 6 Conference Titles, 660 wins (Nattys put them above Missouri) ((3))
8) Texas A&M - 3 National Championships (2 retroactive), 18 Conference Titles, 732 wins (Only below Arkansas because of their 30-41-3 record in the series)
9) Arkansas - 1 National Championship, 13 Conference Titles, 713 wins ((4))
10) Kentucky - 1 National Championship (retroactive) , 2 Conference Titles, 597 wins ((5))
11) Missouri - 0 National Championships, 15 Conference Titles, 671 wins
12) Vanderbilt - 0 National Championships, 14 Conference Titles, 600 wins ((6))
13) South Carolina - 0 National Championships, 1 Conference Title, 602 wins (only above Vandy because of series dominance)
14) Mississippi State - 0 National Championships, 1 Conference Title, 555 wins (below Vandy because of all-time wins and conference titles)

I asked him to post them, but I haven't heard back from him yet. However, I told him he could not claim titles in which they did not play in the title game, or were ineligible because they were on probation, so he kind of dropped it.

Not really. It's your list. You set the parameters. Again. YOUR LIST. You do what you want with it and if people don't like it, then they can make their own list.
See?

If Arkansas hadn't historically dominated A&M and Ole Miss, I would agree. Unfortunately for your argument, Arkansas has. In response to Georgia vs. LSU, I have now explained it 4 times now. I will not again.

Looks like you DO care since you keep posting about it and all.
Guess you won't be giving Alabama anymore crap for retroactively claiming titles then, huh? Can't have it both ways.

Yes...That is why I did head-to-head to decide. In 10 years, A&M may have left us behind
