I’m sorry but idk if (21 wins+1 more conference title)= a natty

Just my opinion tho.

We had a thread similar to this several weeks ago, and most agreed a valid argument could be made for Georgia, LSU and Auburn for the 3,4,5 slot. They are all close in so many categories.

I put Georgia where they were because they are in the small group of schools to break 800 wins

Yeah, some of this is off.

1. Retroactive titles before polls are definitely mythical, a crap shoot and dont count. UT has 4 total.

2. Auburn has 4 and that does not include 1913 (see #1). The 4 are 1957, 1983, 2004, and 2010. Note this also does not include 1993 when AU was the only undefeated team in the country.

I did the list by school-claimed titles

This seems reasonable, If a school doesn't claim it why should the fans? Most schools try to be fair, I think.
It is so difficult considering how the polls etc work.

Great example. The school recognizes two and Auburn fans will tell you 4.

AU is too far in the direction of not claiming legit titles solely because AU does not want to be like bama. That is the truth.

I have no problem with it at all, and appreciate the time and thought you put into it. I just have no problem with LSU and Auburn making their cases, too.

In this day and age I’m honestly not sure why UGA doesn’t just claim the 5 total that we could make an argument for. Doesn’t mean it’s always the best argument of any team but anything prior to the BCS era (and even during in some cases) is more or less up for interpretation. By some accounts, 1942 is considered debatable so may as well toss up 1927, 1946, and 1968 as well

I could say 6 and back that up. In fact #6 is just as legit as Georgia's 1980 title. Maybe more so.

Okay. Sure. So, name the four years you want to claim.

Go ahead. I am waiting, but if you are going to include a year in which you did not play in the title game, or you were on probation, I will say you have no credibility at all.

meh. tenn and lsu are 2 and 3. could switch em around and i woudln't care.

uf is 4, no contest here.

auburn 5 and georgia 6.

uga is barely a big6 program. closer to a&m and arky than they are to the 5 ahead of them.

while i agree with arky over a&m right now, that won't last.

a&m is the only little8 school with the potential to make it a big7. this will happen at some point.

LSU v UT comes down to Nattys - adavntage UT

LSU v UGA - I've discussed 3 times now

Florida - #6 because of conference titles and only one more win than Arkansas

So we have 3rd most conference titles and only 1 of 3 teams with more than 800 wins in the SEC but barely top 6?

Betcha can fry an egg on those hot takes you’re dishing out

7) Arkansas - 1 National Championship, 13 Conference Titles, 713 wins

8) Texas A&M - 3 National Championships (2 retroactive), 18 Conference Titles, 732 wins (Only below Arkansas because of their 30-41-3 record in the series)

So A&M is clearly better, but because of 11 games in their entire history it somehow makes Arkansas better? C'mon.

True.IMO, Tennessee's #2 iceberg is really starting to melt. Not so sure their #2 ranking is without some debate. They well may still be #2 but its not the slam dunk like Alabama's #1.

na, tenn only has one wire service natty, can easily argue lsu for 2. i'm fine with tenn at 2 also.
