Yea sorry I can see how that would be easily misinterpreted. At this point in his career, I wouldn’t consider Malzahn to be a great coach. However, during his period of being a great coach, I think he had more overall success than Fisher.

1) Coach O
2) Coach O
3) Saban (44-16) dropping like a rock, the decline is real.
4) Smart (I guess)
5) Fisher (I guess)

Are we going based on coaching career or who will be the better coach this year? If it’s this year I would go

1. Saban
2. Smart
3. Mullen
4. Orgeron
5. Fisher (Just because I don’t think he will be able to do anything with that brutal schedule)

Hahahahahaha.

Jimbo
Gus
O/Smart/Mullin.

Smart has played in a terrible division and still can't win it all. Saban beats his arse every game they play.

That’s exactly how I rated mine minus O and I got 4 downvotes

Malzahn has won a NC as OC and been to a NC as a HC.

Being a Bama fan I usually judge teams by how close they come to winning a NC. Mullen nor Orgeron has ever sniffed one as a HC.

Yet you mention Malzahn for winning as an OC, but discount Mullen who has 2 ?

If you don’t think Orgeron will have a better year than Fisher this year you are wrong

1. Saban
2. Jimbo - His single NC from FSU will long be forgotten when fired from A&M. But as for now its still has him ahead of the rest.
3. Gus - Best record against Saban and been seconds from a NC.
3. Smart - Been seconds from a NC but hasn't been around long enough to compare for now.
5. Stoops - Has created a football team at UK but hasn't had enough talent to compare.

Honorable mention
6. Mullen - Has had only a little talent but still fell way short when he had them.

6. Coach O - Had plenty of talent but not much to show for it but a good record against Gus.

Based on their HC Careers.

I've got

5. Mullen

This is pretty much how I see it. I wouldn't be opposed to the argument of Stoops in the top5 simply because at that point you're basically judging them based on how they did with talent levels.

Might want to specify that. If you are asking who the best coaches are, that implies that they are presently good. Coaching career

1. Saban
2. Malzhan
3. Fisher
4. Smart
5. Mullen

Smart has done everything Malzahn has done and more. (No offense Aubbies)

1. Both coached for NC
2. Both has won SEC once
3. Both played for and lost SEC Championship game.
4. Smart has better winning %, overall.
5. Smart recruits better.
6. Smart owns head to head.

Ask yourself why. Is it because he has to go through Saban, just like everybody in the west? He still has won a playoff game and played for a National Championship. has won a SEC title.

What has Malzahn done that Smart has not done? Smart has done more than Malzahn, including beaten him head to head more and recruiting better.

1. Saban
2. Fisher
3. Smart
4. Malzahn
5. Mullen
6. Orgeron
7. Stoops
I can't think of any other coach in the SEC, right now< that I would rather have than Saban, Fisher and Smart.

However, if we are talking about who the better coaches are right now, the list changes. Malzahn seems to be regressing while some of the others seem to be improving or at least staying as strong.
