I'll try to sleep tonight. It will be tough.

RB10 Rank the SEC teams in terms of overall importance to the conference Holy shite aTm fans are delusional as hell. The whole "sleeping giant" and the "tides have turned in Texas" statements are ridiculous. You guys had one of the most polarizing athletes of the last decade on your team and found a bit of success. This just happened to coincide with UT being a bit down and now you guys think you run that state?
I know right, they'll come back down to earth in the next few years

Arkansas fans used to get a lot of grief about being delusional, but the Aggies new found belief that they are going to permanently take over the state of Texas makes Arkansas fans look realistic or even pessimistic

1: Bama (Like it or not, they are the "flagship" of the SEC)
2: Florida (Huge fanbase, great athletics and academics, Florida market)
3: Georgia (Best per capita talent state, half the SEC uses their recruits)
4: A&M (Brings in 4 of the top 15 TV markets in the country, Texas recruits)
5 LSU (Louisiana recruits, top-5 program since 2003)
6: Auburn
7: Tennessee (Historical giant)
The rest could be lost and replaced with little effect.

I would have A&M and mizzou last two.
Without A&M and Mizzu you largely lose 5 huge markets and the SEC network, if it exists at all, is far less lucrative.

The purpose of conferences today is to generate money. Everything else is secondary. Academics mean almost nothing as long as you don't embarrass your conference mates. Track championships and other unwatched sports mean less than nothing.
What you did in the past is only meaningful in how well it predicts what you will do in the future and how big your fan base is to drive TV contracts.
TV market size and state population matters, but must be discounted by fan percentage and loyalty.
Given that and making some wild guess about the future and how to weigh Football, Basketball, and Baseball:
Group A: Alabama, Florida, A&M, LSU, Georgia
Group B: UK, Tenn, Auburn
Group C: Mizzou, SC, Arkansas
Group D: Ole Miss
Group F: Miss St, Vandy

Due to the fact Mizzou had a great year, I'm gonna let that one slide. Otherwise I would switch them with Ole Miss.

That's because you're an idiot

Auburn has probably been one of the 5 or 10 most successful teams of the 21st century if you consider wins, conference championships, undefeated seasons, national championships, and appearances in the national championship game. No way you can convince A&M is a more valuable team, especially when they have largely accomplished nothing in their entire history and they are the 2nd most popular team in their state at best

That is SUCH bullshite. And yet...it's true. It's sad and ridiculous, but it's true. Somehow the sports institution we love has been tainted beyond recognition.

I can agree with this

Keep telling yourself that. When was the last time Texas Ag and Mechanical Cowlege won a national title?

It's not so much anger as it is pity. I pity you delusional fools and I also pity the rest of the SEC. When UT gets back to their usual form we are the ones who are going to have to deal with aTm's whining and bitching about how UT is cheating and a bully. It's going to be quite pathetic.
