They are willing to pay more than A&M.
They are able to pay more than Arkansas and almost every other school. Almost $50M in football profit does that.

I assume LSU promotes the interim coach. Vandy is a better bet for someone looking for stability. Bama is more likely to shell out big money for a big name. Basically, they’re interchangeable.

If I'm paying over $3 million, I'm expecting final fours on the regular. Some of the best coaches in the land don't make that money (Mark Few, Bennett at UVA come to mind). I've been advocating that Bama not get into a spending race for the next coach, that Greg would be wise to do his own research and take a more value-oriented approach ala Wisconsin.
