If listing them in order of status, I like Corbin at #4 especially when you consider what he has to work with at Vandy & where he brought the program up from. Those first 4 are hard to argue against. Polk would be 1-A if he had managed to win more CWS rings.

But he did get Mike Riley to come play football at Bama....

Bertman is like Saban and Bryant combined in Baseball

Skip Bertman is the only college baseball manager I could even name, outside of Jim Wells and that's just cuz I am a Bama fan.

His baseball camps in the summer were GOAT. No coincidence we have been the absolute worst program in the conference since they fired him
I used to love me some Larry Simcox

As much as people won't admit, Florida, LSU, south Carolina and arkies programs were horseshite before lotto schollies. Hell, I think we still lead all time head to head against everybody in overall records. I'd love to see what we could do if we played on even fields.
The state of Louisiana's first Lottery drawing was held on January 7, 1992. At this point, Skip Bertman had already led LSU to 5 College World Series appearances (1986,1987, 1989, 1990, 1991) and 1 National Title (1991).
So............. Please spare us with the bullshite that LSU's program was horseshite prior to the Louisiana Lotto being implemented.

Polk had the best team in the country in '85, but didn't get the title.
That's not really the way it works, though
In a tournament/playoffs, that kinda is the way it works. It's the best/hottest team at the end of the season, not as a whole.

My point was not really the way it works in terms of quantifying accomplishments.
The Braves and Bills don't get to hang "Best Overall Teams" banners for their 90s squads.

We had 4 CWS titles in 7 years at that point Tony
