They didn't run all over us. QB broke a couple of long runs. Most yards came in 2nd half, when our O couldn't stay on the field. Defense did a phenomenal job other than Autry and Skinners read containment with the QB.

Yes. The D looked night and day better than last seasons. As far as tackling, speed (except Skinner) and just flying around the football. I wasn't sure we could hold them under 40. Much less 30.

Vandy didn't throw all over us, just had two blown assignments. Take two plays out they throw for under 200 yards. Our pass defense problems all of sudden erased!

I will credit Collins with tackling. State wrapped up much better. State's issue will continue to be the defensive line not getting enough penetration. They aren't getting completely blown off the ball this year though, which is an improvement.

21 points compared to Vandys 35? Compare offense to offense. Not to mention, Vandy breaking in a new QB.

Our D is good enough to hold when they need to. At least we can hopefully outscore some opponents. Poor State

I agree. Hoping to see more from the Dfront penetration in weeks to come. If not, it's only going to get worse.

our defense has ZERO to do with this loss. If our offense cant score 17+ points in a game we cant beat anybody

Dan called possibly his worst game EVER as a HC. He has been calling the plays and I know this as a fact I dont care what Engie or Darkhorse says.

OSU knew state had no offense... had the game been in question, they would've been more aggressive offensively.

Calm down sparky, I didn't blame the defense for the loss.

Even if y'all did have better play calling, do you think your SWAC level receivers could even catch the ball?

Please. Gundy was wanting to beat an SEC school by 50 if he could have.

I for one think think the 23rd best coach in the nation and fourth best in the conference will right the ship.

You guys better fix that shite, you defense is solid but that offense was Terrible. If you leave defense on field whole game doesnt matter how good they are you will get beat.

Play like that are you are going to get embarrassed and maybe shut out in SEC.

nd a huge portion of those yards were the same fricking quarterback run to the left side. They ran it 3 times on the same touchdown drive and State couldn't do a damn thing about it. Pathetic.

To save his job, Mullen and the Dawgs must beat a team they're not supposed to beat and win the Egg Bowl.

He has done that once in his entire career (2009 Egg Bowl).

There's no doubt he is consistent. Three straight bowl games and a nine-win and eight-win season sandwiching the run is good for State, but the fanbase wants more than merely good. They want to compete with the upper echelon of the SEC.

This was the first time I've been cordial about Mississippi State, for the record.

But is this realistic? Should they just be happy with what Mullen is giving them bc there is no evidence that they will ever do any better. I wouldn't get rid of mullen unless I knew there was a cant miss coach who would take the job such as Petrino and maybe a young guy like Hud
