Can Mullen and Staff fix the problems we had against Oklahoma State? Is the QB change to a read option what we need? Defense wasn't bad holding OK State to only 146 yds passing and 21 points.

What does Mullen have to do to save this season, and possibly his job and career?

Probably not, but we'll just have to wait and see. The defense seems solid, but Mullen is an offensive coach and the offense was...well...offensive.

I think a Perkins/Robinson and Prescott tandem in a read option type offense can probably win you a game or 2 here and there.....but if you can't get those guys some help, namely in the pass game, it may be a tough year for young Prescott (depending on when Russell gets better).

Mullen is done in my opinion. Freeze passed him in year one. Auburn and Arkansas will do the same in a year or two. Grind ON [OFF].

Read option won't work in the SEC......Unless you have Cam Newton...

IMO no he can't, But on the bright side the defense played ok and if he can get some offense going then State will be ok.....The offense just didn't seem to "gel" and it is the first game against a very good Big 12 team that was playing with a chip. It's opening weekend and the first game. There will be a lot teams from the first week to the third week make some big improvements...

.....Maybe it's a good thing if Mullen doesn't pan out. Not sure where he his in his contract but maybe State could go after Petrino at the end of the season..

Seems to me that State hasn't been competitive since Hudspeth left to coach at ULL.

Well they are the reason for the problems, so it's possible.

Ok State rushed for 286 yards on that front 7 yall creamed about all offseason.

Oh and that shitty big 12 defense yall laughed at held State to 111 yards on the ground and a spectacular 3rd down conversion rate of 2-16.

What are the problems?

I only watched the first half, but yall ran it well and your D shut that offense down really well.

unfortunately, mullen will be fired. sad for him because he is a great coach. the only way to win at state is to do like ole miss did last year and pay for recruits. (waiting for sanctions anytime now).
