Not trolling here, just a question about Carson Beck. What was the deal with him and Georgia? In every game I've watched of him & Miami this year one of the announcers always has to talk about "how happy he is now" and "how much he loves his players now", making it sound like he was miserable at Georgia or something. Kirby always seemed to like him as well so just didn't understand if there's a back story or something.

they're idiots. Here is the actual truth no matter what other rival fans that don' know what they're talkign about will tell you.

-Nobody had any issues with Carson whatsoever through 2023. None at all.
-2023 was his first year starting and he did extremely well. Great season for us. His draft stock was quite high and there were thoughts he might go pro but we were thrilled he decided to come back.
-2023 we also happened to have brock bowers, ladd, some NFL OL, and a still borderline elite defense. However, most of that was gone the following year. In 2024 we really struggled beck in particular. He forced A LOT of balls he didn't the year before. Who knows if it was becuase he had to press or if he just regressed? Point being, he had a pretty lousy year compared to his prior yera. Multiple games with multiple interceptions, half of which were head scratchingly awful.
-Off the field things declined as well. Prior to the 2024 season was when he really blew up online. Million dollar NIL deal. Constant photos driving around in his lambo. Insta-famous girlfriend. It appeared that he cared less and less abotu leading the UGA football team and more and more about being a famous athlete with online clout.
-There were rumors that at the end of the 2024 season once he went out with injury that he basically mailed it in. Pouted, not a good teammate, loss of the lockerroom. I'm not on the team so idk but this was repeated many times. Then after the season he packed up and bolted to miami.

He was in no way, shape, or form treated unfairly in Athens. Any misery was 100% of his own doing. I don't think you'll find anyone on the team that shed a tear once Gunner took over and beck left.

So how'd that dude stay locked in at Miami of all places?

The truth of the matter is, UGA ‘s almost dynasty is already over. Clemson’s was better.

Beck saw the writing on the wall, that bowl cut had peaked in 21-22 and would never reach those heights again.

Went to a program that could actually play in a natty post 2022.

More like Miami paid him $4,000,000 and he did what any of us would do unless we are independently wealthy.

Last year to raise draft stock, but with how it ended and the talking heads saying they were protecting him from his mistakes, not sure if it helped. Also not facing sec defenses helped.

This is sarcasm, right? Kirby has navigated the era of NIL and transfer portal far better than Dabo. Kirby has finished in the top 10 every season at Georgia except his first. Dabo has spent more time out of the top 10 than in it.

Last night was a pretty good microcosm on Beck.

Some good throws and some bad. Pout face/saggy body language. when things weren’t going well. Game in the line he throws a WTF pick. Runs off field without shaking hands.

Beck lost 6 games in his career. In 4 of them, his last play was an interception with a chance to win the game.

Honestly, nobody in Athens had anything but love for him. His off-field stuff started getting a little concerning last season. What really showed though was that the team NOTICEABLY began playing harder the second he got hurt and Gunner took the field against ya'll in the title game. Then Carson basically left the team prior to the Sugar Bowl and only joined them at the last second before the game in NOLA. Then he had that big weepy moment on national TV after Miami beat ND where he acted like he'd been subjected to abuse the past 4 year as opposed to making millions to play football and be loved by everyone in the entire state. So yeah, not sure what all went down, other than that the team really responds to Gunner in a way they didn't for him and he has done nothing but act like a little punk since he transferred.

I would love to know the whole, true story. I thought Beck was a solid quarterback, but when I saw him laughing on the sidelines during last year's loss to Ole Miss, that didn't sit well with me. I wasn't rooting against him last night, but when he threw that interception to end the game, I couldn't help but think that it was a poetic summation of his college career.

If we're being serious - he probably matured a good bit.

Making the biggest decisions of his life, getting dumped, moving cities, getting a bit of a punch in the face...this is a "greatest hits of growing up" list for guys in their early 20s
