QB Controversy in Athens?

Doubtful.
But even if there is one, one thing that all of Dawg Nation can agree on is that I was dead-nuts right about the UAB game.
While other fans were saying that UGA might struggle on offense, that JTD injury would keep it close for a while, that UABs coach is a genius and should have an SEC job, or even suggesting that UAB is an SEC caliber school and would win 3-4 conference games.....I was telling you that UGA would stomp, it would never be close and that we would score 50+ points.
Now all Dawg fans will be united, nodding their heads in unison saying "He was right."

I think Stetson Bennett is the guy. I said as much in the preseason and everyone swore to me JT was the starter and Stetson was 4th string.
Yet who was the backup? Was it Cankles Beck? Was it Bob Vandagriff? No, it was Stetson M.F. Bennett. He scored the first 5 TDs of the season. He’s clearly the guy. And he’s from South Georgia, so secretly Kirby wants him to win the job all along. Now he has 5 TD to point at for justification.

No controversy in Dawgnation alter...
UGA fans are congratulating Bennett for his outstanding performance over a G5 team.
I know of no Dawg fans that want to see Stetson pass against any teams with DLmen over 6'1" like every SEC team out there.
I still have nightmares about the number of batted balls that any competent DL had against UGA last year with Bennett in the game.
Dawg fans love Stetson for his grit and character but it was what it was, a outstanding performance against inferior competition...

Stetson is great. He is all heart and determination. But he is lacking in height. And that could be a problem against higher level competition than UAB. It’s great to know that UGA has such resources at the QB position. Stetson has a lot experience and I’d feel fine with him at the QB position against most of our opponents but against the Bamas of this world it’s gonna take a taller player - and thank God UGA is loaded with some of the highest recruited QBs in the nation. The future looks incredibly bright. Stetson is a damn good Dawg and he deserves good things and a lot of NILs. I just wish he would grow about 3-4 inches overnight. Love that guy!
