A 5* coach wins no matter the talent level he has. Saban does not. Saban just rides the coattails of the talent on the team. 5*s he competes for NCs. Without it he loses to ULM.

Everyday I run across stupid stuff on the internet. Today is no exception.

Whats your genius excuse for him losing to a bad ULM team if he is the one coaching these players up? Good coaches make a difference in year one.

Yep, Saban made exactly 0 impact in year 1, it was the exact same as under Shula. I can’t believe Bama didn’t have the intelligence and foresight you possess and fire his sorry arse after 2007

Shula recruits, Shula mentality having to be weeded out of the locker room(see Hall showing to the first team meeting eating a KFC snackpack), and the dreaded 'Textbook Five' suspensions after the 10rc game. For a team already short on talent and attitude, the last was the nail in the coffin for that team.

That states that he pimped agents. Not Alabama. I'm not an Alabama fan, but you need to come with more substantial evidence. The level of stupidity in some of you people is amazing.

I know for an absolute fact that recruits and their families have been provided improper benefits to go to Alabama under Saban's tenure

And how to you know this?

Damn! You are either ridiculously dumb or just enjoy putting your head deep in the sand. Everyone Cheats. Let's get that out of the way first. Bama cheats at a level never seen before. Can it be documented? Absolutely not. No cash or benefits are ever given directly from the coaching staff, or any School employee directly to a member of a recruit's family. Everything is done by Boosters. Cash cannot ever be traced. Giving jobs to Prospective prospect's family member's by boosters cannot be traced to the school. Giving a prospect a brand new car (leased in an obscure family member's name) by a friendly booster, who owns a dealership, cannot be traced back to the school. Donating money to a high school (ie Foley High School Indoor Football Facility while Julio Jones was a FR) by a Bama booster cannot be traced back to the school. Donating money to a city park in suburban Washington DC where a certain Bama 5 star OL practiced several years back cannot be traced back to the school. Donating $150,000 to Dr. Phillip's High School to improve facilities while Ha Ha Clinton Dix played there was not an NCAA offense for the school. Giving cold hard Cash to prospects by boosters will never be able to be traced back to the school. Wake up!!

Conversation that took place between a former player's mother (recruit/commitment) to Bama at the time) and a family member of mine.

You damn right! You'd be surprised at the type money guys like him are throwing at the program just to feel like a part of it.

I know every good team will have boosters providing $100 handshakes and the likes. I actually witnessed it at a bar where an LSU player (who I know) was sitting. A LSU fan (wearing a LSU shirt) gave him 5 $100 bills over a 2 hour period to buy a beer for him (of course he never even bought him the beer).
But, you are suggesting systematic program wide cheating and there's no way in hell you could get away with it at Bama for very long. There's just too many people that would know and talk about it. And too many reporters that would love to break that story for it not to get out.
You may not like it but players don't come to Bama to get paid under the table. They come there to win NCs and for a better path to the NFL. You don't even have to be a starter at Bama to make millions in the NFL. Jacobs will this year. Why risk long term $M's for short term $k's?

My point of view is that the NCAA knows elite cfb players should be getting paid and instead of legalizing it and opening up a title IX nightmare they simply turn a blind eye
