Can’t punish bama for making the title game. Miami beat ND. Bama and Miami will make it

Yeah, I can't take anyone seriously who thinks Bama belongs in the title discussion after yesterday.

Don’t be one bit surprised if Duke jumps James Madison. If they don’t, the committee will be under enormous pressure to put Miami in. If they do
Notre Dame 9
Bama 10
Tulane 11
Duke 12
That lets the committee avoid the comparison they’ve avoided and would love to keep doing so

No way they are putting in a 5 loss Duke. You’re just hoping and praying at this point

You can if they already had 2 losses, 1 being a blow out to a bad team, and the 3rd coming in another blowout against their best win.

Here's how I know Notre Dame will NOT make it...bear with me...

Sports Betting officially started in Missouri this month.

I have no idea what I'm doing placing my first few bets.

My largest bet was on Notre Dame making the CFP because I believe the fix for them was in weeks ago.

My luck....Notre Dame will now cost me money in addition to the mental anguish they cost me with all the bias.

Bottom line...Miami is in.

Alabama 3 losses - out
ND - weak schedule hasn’t beat anyone - out
Miami - beat ND, they get in over ND Texas - 3 losses. Out
Vandy - In
This is how it should end up but it won’t. It’ll be bama or ND for the final spot because muh ratings

This. Exactly this.

Least likely given the SEC will go nuclear if it goes this way.

no it wouldn't - Bama would maybe go nuclear, but the rest of the SEC will poiny and laugh

The spots should be secured before and for regular season. Championship games and they should just be used for seeding. IMO

OP is well thought out. Just think Vandy was so so close to recovering the onside against Texas. If they had won that there would have been another sec team safely in

I feel for Vandy, they deserve a chance but they're an afterthought to the committee... Sux.

Any of the remaining teams would have 3 losses if they played UGA tonigjt

Texas could say the same about the OSU game.

Bama and Texas are difficult.

Bama looked like shite lately, but penalizing a team for playing in their conference championship is a dangerous precedent. That may cause conferences to redefine who makes a conference championship. After all, if the SEC used ranking as the tie breaker, either Ole Miss or A&M could have taken a loss without much impact.

Texas has 3 losses without a championship game, but if you replace OSU with a cupcake OOC team, they are 10-2 and definitely in. Does the committee punish for playing a tough OOC game? If so, that impacts the entire sport negatively going forward.

If only there were 16 playoff spots . . .

That doesn’t really fix anything. No matter how many spots there are there will always be teams on the bubble.
If it expanded to 16 we’d be taking about the #17-20 teams that “deserve” that 16th spot more.
Basketball takes what 68 teams now, still teams on the bubble that think they should get in.
