Worth noting that the media only picks the winner about 30% of the time.
Fewer than 200 members voted, but there were around 1000 credentialed people that could vote. They usually don't get it right and during the Saban years it wasn't hard to get it right.
It means nothing.

Honestly, I'd be happy with finishing 2nd with our schedule this season. We'd be guaranteed a top 5 seed if we beat Ohio State.

I see nothing wrong with this. UGA, Texas, and Ole Miss are the clear top 3. Media tends to favor the larger fanbases for more clicks.
A&M, LSU, and Bama are the normal "let's rank them high because it'll spark conversation" schools at that tier 2 level.
OU should be 4.
UT through Auburn is "Who tf knows" territory

Kelley Jones not being a first team corner is pure horseshite and shows you these media nerds don't know shite and just kiss the arse of the perceived big boys. I wouldn't wipe my arse with any of their predictions or all conference teams.
ETA: go Google search the best cornerbacks in the SEC, and you'll find who the real number one is. Putting that Bama guy over Kelley is straight dogshit and those pussy media members need to be called out for it.

Uhh. One of those is clearly not like the other two.
You say Ole Miss is a "Clear Top 3" team, yet the gap between #2 Texas and #3 Ole Miss is 5 TIMES as big as the gap between #3 Ole Miss and #7 Oklahoma.
So to be exact, the media felt there was a clear Top 2 (UGA and TX) and Ole Miss is a "Clear Top 7" team.
