Oh I forgot another built in excuse but only you as an Alter or Troll seem to throw out "the SEC is not as talented as it normally is"
Keep them coming troll, we will very likely win the SEC this year given our huge lead but the real prize as we know since we make it to Omaha nearly every other year on average is to win the natty. Given we have done it more than 99% of programs I am feeling just fine.

They've only lost 2 conference games. They are 5 games ahead of 2nd place.

This is a very accurate description of last week

quote:link? I have never thought that. There are clearly weak teams in the SEC.
Again, all we heard was the SEC is a grind, every series and every game is a so much more difficult than anything we have ever faced.
It is clear that the best teams typically come from the SEC due to all the national titles adding up from the conference.

Did you mean to post this last season? Or are you on a bender and think it is 2024?
Otherwise, it will be a real uphill challenge for Florida. Especially if they miss the postseason. They are currently 8-13 in conference play. They need to finish 5-4 to even have a chance and 6-3 to feel confident. They finish with:
@ USC (5-16)
@ Texas (19-2)
Alabama (12-9)
They need to finish 6-3, with two away series, against teams that are a combined 36-27. If they do that they deserve to be a #2 seed. If not, they don’t deserve to make the NCAA tourney. That would make winning a national championship even more of an accomplishment.

I don't save receipts on this site but I could go back to several trash talking threads where many posters said Texas in multiple sports (baseball included) is going to see much greater competition and thus will struggle to compete at the level they have historically. Maybe that will be the case long term, but I doubt it.
The point was made that the excuse posters here (not saying you Chicken are one of them) were claiming Texas wouldn't compete yet in Football and Baseball they have been the #1 team during stretches in the conference. So now the whining is shifting to a weak schedule (which is inaccurate based on every website that track CBB SOS), to Texas got lucky and hasn't played any teams away therefore they are undeserving to now (and I admit previous poster is just a troll/alter), the SEC is down in talent lol.

Good on LSU for kicking arse the past 30 years and being the #1 team during that stretch.
I have had this argument many times here, I still think Texas is the better overall program given historical win %, Omaha, conference titles, and natties (LSU has 1 more of course) but if all goes well this year we will tie it up.
Would be awesome if we could develop a serious Texas vs LSU college bball rivalry given we are now in the same conference.

I do feel that you guys were gifted a weak football schedule...I think it was deliberate. I know you guys argued to the SEC that A&M and Arkansas are rivals and those games should be thought of by the schedule makers as being "difficult". You avoided the top SEC teams outside of UGA.
If you guys can win the baseball series at Arkansas, then I think you will gain a lot of respect.
But Texas being good this year in football and baseball isn't that big of a deal. You guys were good in 2023 in football...and baseball was good enough in 2024 to make the NCAA tournament...

Agree to disagree on schedules. If you have evidence of special treatment for schedules for Texas would love to see it. As of now all I have heard is conspiracy theories. Texas was a good enough football team and baseball team this year to play the toughest SEC schedule and still be a top 1-4 team in the SEC, irrespective of schedule. The fact the SEC slate was "easier" doesn't mean the teams would have fared differently had they played a harder schedule.
I think good and great are two different things. We have been good the past few years, I think last year we took a step forward to being a great team in football and currently baseball. For clarity I think there are 4-5 great teams a year in football and 6-8 in baseball.
Also, the "schedule" issue really didn't mean much for Texas last year anyways. If they play the hardest SEC schedule we still would have made the playoffs just at a more difficult draw. Doesn't change the fact that Texas is a contender this year for a natty in football and baseball and SEC schedules have nothing to do with that.
