This isn't his buyout at this point in the contract. Swing and a miss.

6-6.
Man, I like LSU and I like Coach O as a person and a position coach/recruiter (but hell nawww as a head coach). I hope they win a lot of games but I just don't see it. Things are shaping up poorly. I've got the feeling of impending doom. 7-5 at best, 5-7 at worst. I do think they'll beat Arky...but I think UF and TAMU are toss ups...could easily lose both. Both have the better coach by far.

January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018, the maximum buyout is $8.5M. However, his salary paid to him this year counts against that $8.5M. So if he's fired on Nov 30, he'll have been paid for 11 months of this year or $3.2M, which means his buyout if fired on this date is actually only $5.3M, not $12M.

This is his buyout at the end of November. It resets to $6 million on January 1st.

But regardless, it is very manageable.

Correct, so it's actually more expensive for LSU to fire him on Jan 01, 2019 than December 31, 2018.

But as with 2018, his paid salary in 2019 would count against his maximum $6M buyout. It wouldn't be until March 2019 that his buyout would be cheaper than his buyout in December 2018.

ETA: If he's fired Nov 30, 2019, his buyout is only $2.8M. This is the soonest I think you'd see LSU terminate him without cause requiring paying him the buyout. That's nothing.

All of these W/L's being thrown around. One would think LSU has already played a game (at least).

Even as an LSU fan, I think it's safe to say that NOBODY has any idea WTF LSU is going to do this year...

I mean does anyone really know how good or bad Burrow is? Does anyone really know how good or bad Jonathan Giles is? Clyde Edwards Helaire? Jamarr Chase? Terrace marshall? How about the 6'6+ pair of WRs??

And if you're thinking the Defense is going to take a step back from last year...They're not. Once again LSU will have a dominant defense that will single handily keep them in games all year around...THIS is fact!

I guess what I am saying is that IF (and that's a huge IF) the offense can find a pulse LSU can be a nightmare opponent for any team on their schedule.

When it comes down to it, the disrespect has nothing to do with the DUDES...the disrespect derives from the coaching reputation of Coach O and Steve E.

When people hear LSU Football, their confirmation bias refers to how bad Coach O's reputation is, totally neglecting the talent that's actually on the roster. I like LSU's one on one matchups all year around (minus Bama).

I think this is a realistic ceiling for this team, but that's even still a shot in the dark honestly. LSU could be anywhere from 5-7 to 10-2 this year, and I wouldn't be surprised either way.

I'd be ecstatic with 9-3 and the chance for a 10 win season.

I think we go 8-4, but we beat UGA.

We lose to Auburn, Bama, Ole Miss, and TAMU. Those last 2 terrible losses fire up the fan base so much, the board has no choice but to fire Alleva.

That gets the ball rolling...
