You have examples of any other true freshmen QBs coming in down double digits in the 2nd half of the national title game in their first real, non-blowout action of their careers to come back and win it?

I wouldn't make him 1st team All-SEC QB based on it, but it's certainly not a laughable statement. In fact, it's pretty much undebatable.

What’s surprising is Alabama only has three total all sec guys on defense

Burrow is gonna have a field day with that secondary. Will be the worst db group since Saban has been there. Which is saying something because Bama has had some poor secondaries

Bama

Their run is over

Sure they may win 8 or 9 games this yr but the decline will be real, steady and unforgiving.

Will be fun to watch

How far will Bama drop in the polls after they lose tomorrow night?Posted on 9/1/17 at 1:21 pm

I'm thinking no further than 3. It's crazy to think that Bama will have to lose 3 games to drop out of the Top 10. I guess they've earned the benefit of the doubt due to all their success but it's gonna be interesting and wild to watch as their program starts declining this yr

Fromm is clearly the best returning starter

he is one of the best game managers I've seen for a freshman. But he won't be able to rely on his RB's this yr. Have a hunch Eason is gonna regret transferring

LOL at Tua being 1st team QB. Obviously Burrow will be first team once the season ends. LOL at Rashard Lawrence being 3rd team behind some guy from A&M.

Athlon has done gone and triggered you something fierce!

Nah. If anything, the freshman will take Fromm’s job and he’ll transfer to lsu to take over after Burrow is done lighting up the SECW.

What is incredible is what Tua did in the NGC after not taking a snap in over a month and playing his first real significant snaps of the season.

Put up almost the exact same statline as Hurts did against Clemson.

Wouldn't be shocked in the least if he turns out to be a great QB, but to place him in front of Fromm and Stidham after one half of football is laughable.

We have 2-3 more 5* RBs on the roster. I don't think a guy that started for almost the entirety of his freshman year including the Rose Bowl, SECCG, and National Championship is going to somehow get worse because Sony Michel and Nick Chubb aren't standing behind him (especially when 2018's OL is going to be even better than 2017 and 2 of his top receivers and TEs return).

Eason doesn't have anywhere close to the decision making or leadership ability of Fromm, nor the running ability of Fields. He lost the locker room through no real fault of his own when he got hurt and Fromm continued to win but he was never going to regain it after the way the season went either. That's why he left.

Tua was a true freshman playing his first significant minutes of his college career in the biggest game.

The Alabama offense looked completely different with him on the field. Georgia couldn't stop him.

Cool

Doesn't mean he's a better QB than Stidham or Fromm, yet

been telling everyone who will listen how good we are going to be on defense. In fact, QB is the only true question mark.

With hurts we score zero. We are shut out and don't sniff the goal line with Georgia.

Tua, 26 points in one half. If u couldn't see his ability then u don't watch football.

It always reminds me of Tom Brady. I wonder just how much these gms really know. I sat and watched him in our orange bowl game. Bama had the number one defense and had just held Florida to 117 TOTAL yards in the seccg. Tom threw for 400 and fgn willed Michigan to a win. After the game, the consensus amoung Bama fans was this may have been the best qb we've ever played. Not sure what everybody else saw but I knew he was future all pro. People are just stupid.

Gotta hand it to you guys, he seems to have been well worth the $500k you spent on him.

Why? Fromm is a much better passer than Eason.
