Burrow is gonna have a field day with that secondary. Will be the worst db group since Saban has been there. Which is saying something because Bama has had some poor secondaries

Yep....Saban sucked coaching our DB’s too...never looked at the ball.
That worked against poor college QB’s.

Tua as first team QB? Over Drew Lock? How the frick at this point, do you say that?

Because this is a pre-season list which doesn’t mean shite. Part of the off-season every year is hyping up some QB a lot and this year it’s Tua.

You’re going to have to turn in your Bama Fan card, spouting heresy like this!

Put up almost the exact same statline as Hurts did against Clemson.

Hurts put 160 yards and 2TDs in 4 quarters of play while Tua put up 193 yards and 3 TDs in 2 quarters plus OT.

Wouldn't be shocked in the least if he turns out to be a great QB, but to place him in front of Fromm and Stidham after one half of football is laughable.

I agree.

been telling everyone who will listen how good we are going to be on defense. In fact, QB is the only true question mark.

Honestly, Tagovailoa has a much better supporting cast.
Bama will win more games than Mizzou. I don't see this as overly discourteous. Athlon likely has more of a brisk business in Alabama newsstands as well.

Much better? I mean, I know they are Bama and have 5* backups but our offense is fricking loaded.

Putting Tua as the first team QB is a bit of a joke. He may be good enough to be there postseason but preseason Lock, Stidham and Fromm are all more deserving. Even Fitzgerald but he has the injury concerns

You must not have been alive when Patrick Nix came in cold off the bench without even any warm up throws on the sideline in the 1993 Iron Bowl and proceeded to throw a touchdown pass on 4th and 15 on his first pass to cut Alabama's lead to 14-12. Auburn then added a FG and a TD for the victory.

Nix to Sanders

What is incredible is what Tua did in the NGC after not taking a snap in over a month and playing his first real significant snaps of the season.

What Tua did is unheard of.

He did that against a D who had not prepared for him. He may be able to do it when people are expecting him. Only time will tell.

Fromm led the SEC and was top 10 in the nation in QB rating as a true freshman (for a full season, not just one half) and doesn't make the top 4 preseason all-SEC teams. One semi-poor half in the National Championship game against the best defense in the country really has people sleeping on what he did last season.

This is the only so called college football expert type thing I've seen that has him rated so low, unless you want to count the army guy on here.

This is one of the best classes of QBs the conference has had in a while. Fromm, Stidham, Lock,....

Tua. The first three aren't in any particular order.

I agree with everyone saying we need to see Tua over a few games but this sort of stuff is laughable. We didn't start running some new offense. There was nothing new to prepare for except a guy who can make the throws and actually makes reads and doesn't check off #1 and run.

And, if Georgia didn't prepare for him at all, that's a massive bonehead move. Everyone and their mother knew there was a real chance Tua would get in against Clemson, and Hurts playing poorly against them made it just as good or better a chance he got action against UGA if things went poorly.
