Prime example of gump logic

Say something enough, it must be true.

pretty simple with this one. ball was touched before he could catch, therefore no PI. if yall want to bitch about any bad calls in this game this one is per the rules. at least go with the one in the first quarter

Like I said, they love to bitch but don't know the rules they are bitching about. They just see a WR get decked and the boo birds and conspiracies rain down.

I'm not here to bitch about bad calls in that game. But if you interfere before the ball is tipped I'm pretty sure its still PI.

Really doesn't matter.

It is exactly that. If the ball is tipped before you wrap him up than it is not PI. if you wrap him up before tha ball is tipped, it is PI

Bama still won the game and eventually the NC. I don't see why they have such a hard time admitting it was a bad call. It's not like it'll make you a bad person or any less of a Bama fan to admit so.

That time the ref tackled the scar player, that was totally legit.

Where does it say this?

quote:

Defensive pass interference is contact beyond the neutral zone by a Team B
player whose intent to impede an eligible opponent is obvious and it could
prevent the opponent the opportunity of receiving a catchable forward
pass. When in question, a legal forward pass is catchable.
Defensive pass
interference occurs only after a legal forward pass is thrown (A. R. 7-3-8-
VII, VIII, XI AND XII). It is not defensive pass interference (A.R. 7-3-8-
III):
1. When, after the snap, opposing players immediately charge and establish
contact with opponents at a point that is within one yard beyond the
neutral zone.
2. When two or more eligible players are making a simultaneous and bona
fide attempt to reach, catch or bat the pass. Eligible players of either
team have equal rights to the ball (A.R. 7-3-8-IX).
RULE 7 / SNAPPING AND PASSING THE BALL FR-77
3. When a Team B player legally contacts an opponent before the pass is
thrown (A.R. 7-3-8-III and X).
4. When a Team A potential kicker, from scrimmage kick formation,
simulates a scrimmage kick by throwing the ball high and deep, and
contact by a Team B player occurs

It is a rule.

What i was talking about is when a defensive lineman tips or deflects the ball it becomes a live ball therefore the receiver is an open man. If the guy in that picture is the one that tipped the ball, he had him wrapped up before the ball was tipped therefore it is not a live ball and is playable by the receiver.

LINK

quote:

Once the ball touches any defensive player or eligible offensive receiver the above rules no longer apply and the defender may tackle the receiver or attempt to prevent him from gaining control of the ball.

This is what I was referring too. If a lineman did tip the ball then I would agree. That has never been made clear to me about that play. If the guy in that picture is the one that tipped it then the defender got there early and it would be PI
