That was your typical Les Miles game.

Favorite- 2011 Jarvis Landry GOAT

Least- the flags. I’ve been cynical about everything since that day.

Favorite? Man there have been lots of fun ones. It’s so hard to pick. Mine might be the arse beating in 2014. I was a freshman and it was my first really big game as a student. 2004 has to be up there, too, along with 2010.

I also love this game. Every year it is something different that makes it special. Tubberville and players smoking cigars after a win, AU stomping on the eye and getting blown out, ref gate, the mulligan extra point, LSU's last second TD, the comeback last year, and from 2 years ago LSU wins-Not so fast. This game is very intense and entertaining.
Can't forget the interception game. Also LSU down 28 points in the 4th qtr, comes back to tie i think. AU wins in last moments (1992)
Back to the favorite- hard to choose, but Dinardo's bring back the magic game.
Least favorite- the mulligan extra point.

Worst was 2006 easily when we refused throw in the 2nd half until the last drive when it was too late

Best was...
Edit: my first game ever at 5 years old. 1988 I helped move the earth as a kid

I was at that game in the middle of a sea of LSU fans

Couldn’t believe Les pulled that one off

I was also at the game where John Vaughn missed 1,000 FG including doinking one off the post in OT

I’ve never witnessed a win in Baton Rouge but I’ve had a damn good time everytime I went

Favorite, 1994 interception game.

Least favorite, 2007. Not only the Bryd catch, but AU took an absolute arse raping by the refs. Twice LSU went for it with Jacob Hester and short and twice he was stopped short, yet LSU was given the first down.

Yeah, I know I sound like an LSU fan whining about the refs now. Deal with it.

Don't remember that. I remember them picking up the flag on his TD reception and tubby got pissed. In 2001 my freshman year we won the west in the game that got moved due to a hurricane. Stormed the field. I grab an endzone pylon and happen to end up face to face with tuberville. Called him a fig and he just scowled at me. Security guard took the pylon from while walking out

Dinardo's bring back the magic game

I was at that game.

Frankly I had no opinion of LSU at the time. LSU had kinda sucked for a few years, I had never been to a game in baton rouge and had no idea LSU's new coach had anything planned. I had heard something about white home jerseys or some such nonsense, didnt care, strolled into Tiger Stadium ready to enjoy watching AU bend LSU over and arse rape them.

Swear to God to this day I remember when LSUs band played those 4 notes and TS exploded that night. I was like holy frick, what the hell is this. These people are out of their mind. I knew AU was in deep shite from that moment on that night, the same as I knew it when I was at Jordan Hare in 1989 when bama showed up.

1988:

I was a junior in the student section.

Before the game, I thought auburn was a color. I met my first Auburn fans on game day and thought, "Oh God, they're just aggie-lite."

For the LSU peeps, here is a good article on the bring back the magic game.

LINK

quote:

Gerry Dinardo called it the Bring Back the Magic Game before it was even played which, looking back on it, makes him the first Delusional Optimist. I mean, there was no rational reason to think LSU was going to beat Auburn.
Auburn came into the game ranked 6th in the country. LSU had not appeared in the AP poll since September 16, 1989. Auburn was coming off of a 9-1-1 season, and was only two years removed from going undefeated. LSU had not had a winning season in six years. LSU hadn't beaten Auburn since the Earthquake Game in 1988, and Auburn's last visit to Baton Rouge ended in a 34-10 thrashing.
Sure, getting white jerseys back was cool, but uniforms can only make up for so much. Dinardo inherited an LSU program that hadn't just hit an iceberg, it had already sunk to the bottom of the ocean. The Tigers kicked off the season by losing to Texas A&M 33-17, and our annual win over Mississippi State didn't alleviate anyone's concerns that this new coach was just bringing more of the same.

This was Dinardo's first home game, and he did everything right in the leadup. He brought back the white jerseys, and made an effort to connect with the program's past. He wanted fans to think of LSU as the power it once was, not the team that had endured six straight losing seasons. He talked about rebuilding, but he also talked about winning, right now. This wasn't another Five Year Plan.

quote:

This game was nothing short of a miracle for the program. LSU jumped out to 12-3 lead in the first quarter, and then just hung on for dear life for the last 45 minutes. The last points LSU would score in the game came with two seconds left in the opening frame, when James Gillyard tossed Patrick Nix out of the back of the end zone in front of a wild student section.
Nix claimed he heard a whistle, and pulled up. Looking at the video, you can clearly see him give up on the play, so it is a reasonable excuse. But I'm not sure how he heard anything. That is the loudest I have ever heard Tiger Stadium. Okay, maybe it has gotten louder for a specific play here or there, but the sustained noise in that game was absolutely insane. You literally could not hear the person next to you, it was so loud. And not just for the scoring plays, I'm talking the whole game. Maybe there was a whistle, but I'm amazed Nix could pick it up out of the din.

quote:

This was the best game I have ever attended. And certainly the most fun I've ever had getting hit in the head with a whiskey bottle.

Also, FTR, I was pelted with cups and drinks at various points during the game. I was pissed but a bit frightened and a bit in awe as well. That night was peak TS intimidation. I've been to several LSU games there since, but that one was different.

Lights. Cameron. Action. PP7 went for a little ride in 2010.

Least favorite is when Les went full mad hatter and threw deep instead of a FG as time expired.

His ears were ringing. It happens to me in that stadium, I can't imagine being on the field where all the sound is being directed.

It was the tweetty birds.

It was right in front of the LSU student section.

I was on the other end of the field in the endzone about 35 rows up. Too far away to have any idea.

06 would cover both. Classic, hard hitting game decided by some questionable calls.
