What's dumb is thinking that this is a dumb statement. If you think that a 13-0 B1G champion will be left out, you literally know nothing about college football.

Assuming that one loss for both teams is to AU, then he is right. UGA and UA have terrible schedules. Your homerism wont allow you to see that.
Both are rated tougher than Washington or Wisconsin schedules.

Its not hard to argue at all. Look who they play. Notre Dame blew out Michigan State who is currently leading the Big Ten east. A three loss Iowa team almost beat Penn State and blew Ohio State out, the supposed strength of the Big Ten. Now if Wisconsin starts blowing everybody out like they did this past weekend, including a Big Ten east champ that still only has two losses, they certainly have a case for the 3rd or 4th seed at this point.
Your problem is that you start from a premise that Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee are good football teams.
It's fricking stupidity.

It has nothing to do with being undefeated. It is the best four teams period.
That's nice and all, but at some point a resume of wins and losses has to go into it. Otherwise Southern Cal would have gotten in last year when everyone was blowing them and talking about how amazing they were. At the end of the day, you have to win.

If Alabama were to win out, they would have wins over a ranked LSU, Auburn, and Georgia. Georgia would stil have wins over a ranked Notre Dame, Mississippi State, and Auburn team, with a loss to a highly ranked Alabama team.
How high do you think an 8-4 Auburn team will be ranked?
Ohio State lost to #5 Penn State, beat #6 Michigan, #7 Oklahoma, #8 Wisconsin.
LSU is currently #24, MSU is #16 (with 1 more loss coming), Auburn is #10 (with 2 more losses coming) and their only remaining win in the hypothetical would be a cupcake.
That Ohio State resume looks much better than either Bama or UGA could hope to have.

Who gives a shite? It's irrelevant, Miami controls their own destiny also with wins over ND and Clemson.
Why is Miami 7 and Wisconsin 8? You really think this is an argument?
You proved my point. You're clueless. And it looks like about everyone else in the thread thinks so also.

There is a difference between being highly likely to end up in the playoffs and controlling your own fate. The statement that they control their own fate is incorrect IMO. I'll concede that it is unlikely that they'd be left out if they finish undefeated with a good win in the CCG, but...
If the following all happened, then finishing undefeated will likely be a footnote for debate else they are left out.
UGA or Bama wins out regular season - close conference championship game as well... Say Bama wins for sake of not being labeled a homer here
ND wins out
Oklahoma wins out
Clemson wins out
That's four teams that easily belong in more than Wisconsin, with Clemson likely being the fourth. Then you have a one loss UGA with a win over number 2, and a close loss to number 1... Not saying we'd be in but Wisconsin isn't sniffing the four spot in that case...
That by definition is not controlling your fate.

Say what? Who was talking about them? The only thing Georgia can do with the crap teams on their schedule is blow them out, which in fact they did.

I know, but I was just making the point that if the #15 ranked team loses to the #5 ranked team, the AP voters would still drop the #15 team for the loss whereas the CFP may not.

how great would it be to see Miami beat UGA in the playoffs?

Conference championships still matter when comparing teams with even records. Last year Penn State was a 2-loss team and Ohio State was a 1-loss team with a huge non-conference win. If Penn State had 1-loss, they would have been in over Ohio State by virtue of being the conference champion and having a head to head win.
When comparing two 1-loss teams, or an undefeated P5 champ Wisconsin to a 1-loss Georgia/Bama, I expect that being a p5 conference champion is a huge factor given the committee's mission statement to place an emphasis on conference champions

Wisconsin actually moved up a spot to 8 this week and will move up again if they beat Iowa this week.
Wisconsin didn't move up because they won.
Wisconsin moved up because Penn State lost.
There is a difference.
Yes... if Wisconsin gets quality wins, they have a chance to move up. But their wins have to outnumber other programs (as has been stated over and over that other teams are facing quality oppenents too. Wisconsin doesn't have much of a chance to catch up in the win dept. They need higher ranked teams to lose)
