If they win out, they will jump people ahead of them.

They will pick up wins over ranked teams, and being the undefeated Big 10 champ will look very good on the eyes of the committee.

Ok... Who of UGA, Bama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Notre Dame do they jump if all of those teams win out during the regular season as well... Then if SECCG is a one score close game between 1-2...

They don't strictly control their fate today. They aren't far off from it, but they need some help.

you realize this can change right?

Yes, creating an even wider discrepancy, which further proves the point wrong.

Here’s a better way of looking at it

Georgia or Alabama need help if they lose the champ game. People can scream to the high heavens but any undefeated team deserves to go. Don’t lose to Syracuse or Iowa State or whoever. Wisconsin would have beaten all the Syracuse or Iowa states on their schedule

If Alabama loses to Georgia. Wisconsin beating Ohio State is better than any win on bama schedule. Throw in Iowa an Michigan and I don’t know what bama could argue about. Bama schedule is fricking soft and they better win out

That being said Wisconsin wont go 13-0. So don’t worry about it

To be honest I don’t care what power five school you have allegiance or who you hate, I would be a little pissed if an undefeated school from a big conference doesn’t get a g chance. It sets a terrible precedent basically saying a school had zero chance to get in before the season even started.

You are also penalizing a team that has nine conference games compared to a team that has 8 where some seasons you get an odd number of true road games. That gives a team one less chance to get a non conference game. The Badgers went out and scheduled a decent program byu as a true road game. Not some neutral site crap. It isn’t their fault byu sucks

I think it would be a huge mistake to leave off Wisconsin or Miami. Bama and Georgia have their playoff game in early December

but what the committee has clearly said by putting an undefeated Wisconsin team at 8 means exactly what it says. They think that all 7 teams in front of them are the better teams regardless of what their record is.

Do you have a clue as to who Wisconsin will have to beat to be 13-0?

I will give you $500 cash money if Wisconsin is 13-0 and does not make the playoff.
Serious.

If Im not mistaken Wisconsin has scheduled LSU twice and Alabama at neutral sites all while having to play 9 conference games.

I get that isn't relevant for this year, but they decided to play BYU as a true road game while playing nine conference games.

I wouldn't say that Wisconsin was intentionally trying to duck anyone. It just happened it these teams were bad

Bama played FSU at a neutral site which turned out bad and played THREE dog teams and 8 conference games.

IF Wisconsin wins the rest of their games, they are playing pretty good teams and Bama ends up losing to Georgia, its pretty comparable. It really is

At some point leaving an undefeated team out would be a mistake. I wouldn't have a problem with them getting in.

To be honest I think bama should be arguing about Clemson or Oklahoma who LOST games. One to a pretty bad Syracuse team and the other AT HOME to Iowa State. Get pissed at them or at least compare yourself to them

I think its a very small chance Wisconsin wins out, so I wouldn't worry about them.

But I could definitely see it being Georgia/Bama, ND, Clemson, Oklahoma.

I think you need to worry about these teams more.

"Looking at Wisconsin right now, they’re still in a position where they’re gonna need help. … People still think that teams can qualify for this if they win a Power 5 conference championship. I think that’s why they get so frustrated and emotional. This isn’t a little league team where everyone gets trophy. This is about putting the best four teams in. If you think Wisconsin at the end of the dance is one of the best four teams no matter who they played, then put them in. But don’t reward them just because they’re undefeated. To me that’s silly."

That bullshite from herbstreit. People could still say Ohio State is one of the best four teams then. Look at their talent blah blah blah. You still have to earn it at some point

And what’s with the little league everynoe gets a ribbon. Wisconsin would have actually won something.

That’s a bunch of bullshite Kirk. He’s losing it
