bv you guys keep repeating this so many times that AI thinks it’s true, but it’s not.

2013
Missouri 12 2
South Carolina 11 2
Georgia 8 5
Vanderbilt 9 4
Florida 4 8
Tennessee 5 7
Kentucky 2 10

Only 2 teams with double digit wins that’s not an up year

2014 saw the east with all but 2 teams finish with 7 or less wins.

Both are down years.

It shows you know nothing about Mizzou and CFB.

If beating Florida, a historical middle of the pack SEC program, is even mentioned as the biggest game in your history by ANYONE with a cursory knowledge of CFB your program is historically shitty. An awful lot of people with a cursory knowledge of CFB have said just that since Mizery's win against Florida.

What is Missourri's biggest win ever? Y'all ain't ever won a natty, the one you claim came about because the US Senate, for some inexplicable reason, stepped in and said y'all were national champions (only counted as a natty in Missouri) and was the result of a 7 point win over Navy so I guess thats the biggest game y'all ever won, a 7 point win against Navy. I think I would go with this one if I were a Missouri fan. I can't be though because my mama and daddy were married when I was conceived and they weren't related prior to marriage....

Key takeaway here is any time a newbie outperforms founding members it’s due to a “down year.”

Down year accurately interpreted is “it doesn’t count or matter when traditional powers suck.”

Nice setup.

In fact, it was one of the strongest years ever for the SEC East. Only 4 times in SEC Divisional history has the East placed 2 teams in the final AP top 5 and never accomplished it again since. 2013 saw #4 SCAR and #5 Missouri there.

You could say the traditional powers were down that year, but the EAST was up. You see the EAST at the time was comprised of 7 TEAMS, if two of those TEAMS are recognized nationally as top 5 teams that means the EAST was strong.

I am pretty familiar with Missouri's history since OU was in the Big 8 with them all those decades...

Chat GPT got all of them that I am aware of but one...

And that was 1969 Nebraska. The game was early in the Big 8 season but ended up being for the conference championship. Missouri won 17-7. Nebraska would go on to be National Champions for the next two years.

Missouri's 1969 team was one of their finest teams. Mel Gray was on that team... He was the fastest player in College football that year.

You do realize that in the 12 year period from 2012 through 2023 inclusive the East produced more than 2 teams with double digit wins only twice (2012 and 2018 - 3 teams each) . All other years in that period had 2 or fewer teams with double digit wins. By that measure, no one could consider 2013 a "down" or exception year.

That would have been a big one... 1973 Nebraska was a really good team as well.

I remember Nebraska handled Texas in the Cotton Bowl that year.

lol your Super Bowl. You didn't even make the Big 12 title game. OU beat Nebraska for the Big 12 title that year.

Wasn’t former Cardinal great Roger Werhli on that team also? Lost to Penn State 10-3 in the Orange Bowl
