2022 Schedule

vs Memphis
@ Arizona
@ LSU
vs Bowling Green
vs Texas A&M
vs Arkansas
@ Kentucky
@ Alabama
vs Auburn
vs Georgia
vs ETSU
@ Ole Miss

Ok I am saying 4 wins (Memphis, Arizona, Bowling Green and ETSU, and 2 losses (Bama, Georgia) are most likely, which leaves 6 toss up games. I am thinking 4-2 in the toss up games, so 8-4 for State. Bowl game can get you to 9 wins.

That is a good insight.
There are about 6 toss up games and how those games end will tell our fate.
6-6 to a possible 8-4/9-3 if we get some fortune on our side and stay healthy.

Is a 3-6 divisional finish somehow more satisfying because you're not last?

I’m not here to satisfy your freaky kinks. Pick yourself last if that’s the sort of thing you get off on.

Simply no way to have a set answer.

The thing is, we saw a team that won or lost by a little margin. You should have beaten Memphis, LSU, Ark (had the lead with 2 minutes left). I think the lack of a kicker and consistency was the issue.

That's about as close to a 10 win season you can get... and you return a crap ton of production and a salty defense.

Then you had to come from behind 2 times to win.... BOTH TIMES set a school record for come from behinds.

6-6 to 12-0... It would not shock me at all for you to fall anywhere in that area.

If your kicker is worth 6 points per game.

If your defense can shave off 3-6 points per game.

If your offense can add a little more.. YES.. you can stay on the field with anybody and beat most.

What's not really talked about is the schedule of those teams you play. For example TAMU plays how many road games and who before and after.

My guess is 10-2 or 9-3 and in every game but Bama.

State is such a hard team to pick, especially with Leach.

Y’all will for sure beat someone you shouldn’t, and then lose to someone you shouldn’t too.

Did y’all find a serviceable kicker?

On a serious note, this is another thread I like to bookmark. Fire away good Sec fans ( Non SEC fans do not count, I guess except for OU and Texas since they'll be joining soon, although I doubt they know Jack shite about 2022 Sec teams)

I see State going 12-0 in the regular season, beating the hell out of Vandy in the SEC Championship game, winning game 1 in the playoffs against TAMU and winning the Natty over UGA. Finishing 15-0 and unseating LSU for the "Greatest Team of All Time".

So a team that adds 2 legit FG kickers and returns 18 starters and beat TAMU on the road is suddenly going to lose to them at home?

MSU missed 4 FGs vs Ark and had the lead on the road with 2 minutes left. They lost the lead and still marched it down field to see the FG miss. They lost Burkes... yet at home.. they are going to lose?

LSU lost a whole team pretty much and with all the talent they had barely won at MSU...

I don't see MSU losing those 3

Auburn - W We spotted them 25 points last year and still won.

Derrick Mason’s prevent defense ain’t walking back through that door.
