Made at halftime indicates a “lack of institutional control”??
LSU did NOT violate any rules. They were not even a party to the court case last week. They have never rostered a player who signed an NFL contract. They kept a space open in case the Federal court rules two specific players eligible.
Steve Spurrier said humorous digs toward other conference schools his whole career. Did Florida lack institutional control over him? If Lane’s halftime comment results in any punishment, then it’s clear that this whole thing was personal agenda driven. I think LSU’s lawyers will have a field day in countering this if the SEC proceeds. Does Sankey really want to testify again and look foolish a second time trying to defend illogical decisions.

Yes, but Kiffin should know better than to say anything related to an active lawsuit. That's why lawyers tell you to not comment. Things you say can be used by the other side. We all know it was a joke but a lawyer will use this 100% of the time if it even possibly helps their case.

I understand what you’re saying, but this does not help their case in those situation. If it does I’d love to know how lol

Just a guess, but it seems pretty likely there have been lots of back channel talks with the LSU administration and the SEC office. Likely a big part of that has been that neither side would make any public comments related to the situation. When Kiffin made those comments, it likely set off the commissioner.

The original case was brought to show that the leaders of LSU do not have control over a rogue football coach. Kiffin's comments illustrated that point perfectly. I suspect Kiffin will be gagged soon by LSU legal.

So then LSU can file it's very own violation of the 1st amendment suit in the same Alabama federal court. Maybe the same judge can listen to this shite to save some time.

Kiffin has been in this conference for about a combined decade and LSU fan still can’t understand that the stupid shite he says, ends up biting him in the arse.

Please stop. I’m already tired of pointing out how just incredibly stupid LSU fans are as a whole.

When, in the history of sports, has WORDS gotten a team kicked out of a conference?

While at Ole Miss, he told people to get out their popcorn on national television, without care for those allergic to popcorn.

Not the SEC Commissioner though, right? Right or wrong the commissioner only needs 11 of 16 votes to get this done. Does LSU athletics have enough pull with the other SEC universities to keep this from happening? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Maybe; but it’s also just a comment. If Sankey is really that knee bent over a comment. He is in no shape to be a commissioner of a league as big as the SEC. That’s just insane. If we start regulating what can and can not be said (especially in a joking manner) what the hell are we even doing lol.

I mean, yeah, don't make comments about an active lawsuit... but this is just silly.

Is the SEC trying to make every coach scared of ever saying anything negative about them? How thin-skinned are they?

With the LSU record against Ole Miss, I understand you wanting them gone.
