At least there wasn't any hair pulling. Amazing. That's a start.

The best part was the shorter woman knocking off the hat of the taller woman.
I was also an Athletic Director in the High School level. As for saying they wouldn't win another SEC game before the Texas series, that is completely wrong.

I said, with the schedule they are facing - All top 6 teams with 6 of the 9 on the road, I could see them losing all of them, but I think they can take one game from Florida.

What was your prediction? If you check my posts at the beginning of the year, I said they would probably be 21 - 1 in pre-conference and 11 - 13 in SEC. I think I'm doing pretty good.

I would ask what you do for a living, but I'm sure you are a lawyer or Doctor and a multi millionaire, so I don't need to ask. Do you give to the Softball NIL with all your money?
I'm 57, first year retired. I don't want to say too much, but my first job was a PE teacher at an Elementary School in Rosenberg, Tx. in 93. I was in Louisiana the rest of the time.

Wife is tired of me. I'm bored most of the time, but I'm finally getting used to it.

Did you have to take "Texas History" in order to teach/coach in Texas like I had to do?

Have you only coached Softball? If so, I probably don't know you.
I'd rather not say. I only coached softball one year - and really was forced to do it.

I was a basketball and volleyball coach mostly - two of the sports I never played in high school.
Should I say, retired instead? What have you done with your life?

Confidence is such a huge factor and momentum as well.

As a former Coach, all I can say is,"Preach". The problem is as a coach (in my experiences) you really can't do much about building confidence.

Some say, "repetition" builds confidence. It does in terms of physical confidence, but it's the "mental" confidence that has to come from the player and there's not much you can do as a Coach about that.
Now, they are.

If they would have lost tonight, got swept at Ark, and lost their first round SEC tournament game, I don't think they would have hosted with a 10 - 16 SEC record. The committee will not let 10 or 11 SEC teams host, even though their RPI is very good.

Now, if they can win the series at Ark, I think they are a top 8 seed.

I have to say, I saw more fight in Beth this weekend than ever before. Hope she keeps it up. This was a HUGE win to win this series.

I'll be happy with one win at Ark, to end the season at 12 - 12. This last 4 weeks schedule was/is brutal.
Actually, we really don't have that much talent at all this year. Last year, we had a lot of talent.

The hitting coach is doing a fantastic job with what he has this year.

They have to win today because Ark is now ranked 2nd in the country and we go there next weekend.

Good news is that if we win that series it could put us back into the top 8. Bad news, if we get swept, we might not even host a regional.

Just winning the series would be phenomenal.

Forgot about the Ark series. Need to take 2 at home. So, I should say we need to go 5 - 4 the rest of the way to get a top 8 seed.

I was happy we didn't go up by 1 in the bottom of the 6th. I knew we had a chance going into the 7th tied instead of up by 1.

Who pitches tomorrow?

Still need to win one more game to host a regional IMO. A win tomorrow and two wins at Arkansas should be enough for a top 8 seed. It won't be easy.
Pitching a lot better than yesterday.

We should be able to win EVERY series at home if we are a top 10 team.

The way Jay talks about his team pre-season, I'm thinking there is no way we don't win every game by run-rule.

He's like a snake oil saleman in the off season.

If they win today, they are a lock to host a regional. In order to be a top 8 seed, they need to go 4 - 2 the rest of the sec. I'm seeing winning 1 against A @ M and sweeping South Carolina as the logical way.

That's kind of rough, Casual.
If you are talking about Berzon, she was a good pitcher the last two years, but IMO, not an All - American. This year she is below average and I've been saying that since the beginning of the year.

She won a lot of games early, but there was always 2 or 3 runners on base most of her innings and she managed to pitch around that against non-conference teams. You can't do that in the SEC.

Maybe she has an injury or maybe it is mental. I can tell you one thing. She won't be an All-American this year.

If they wouldn't have acted like arse after the game last night, this wouldn't be happening. Too damn stupid giving the other team "bulletin board" material after one luck out game.

Keep that crap for the 3rd game or at least when you are guaranteed a series win.
I think they were 8 - 3 at one point. Now, they are 9 - 10. Wow.

A better example is that against A @ M, we out hit them in two of the three games? Even the game that we lost 12 - 7, we had 10 hits, they had 13.

We lost all 3 games.

Against, Texas we out hit them in 2 of the 3 games also.

We won 1 game in Texas.

Yes, I know BB's had something to do with it, but the major problem is we have 1 girl that is a HR threat and the top ten teams have 4 or 5 on their teams.

Looking like another host a regional, travel for super regional season.

We have to win a couple of more games to host a regional. 9 - 15 in the SEC or 10- 14 in the SEC will not get you to host.
