Playoff committee smarter than most of you think.....

They knew putting FSU up against UGA would soften the fall out after uga pounds them. Imo they know uga should be ranked ahead of FSU but are going to let uga do their dirty work for them. Angry UGA vs an angry FSU.

Isn't that matchup pre-determined by the rules though? Highest rated ACC not in playoffs vs highest SEC not in playoffs? And there's no way they were going to drop FSU or IHA out of those spots.
I think you're right they will benefit from this but I'm not sure it was by design.

Or..........maybe they are thinking, hey FSU, beat Georgia and then if Texas or Bama wins the AP can vote you #1, the AP is not bound to vote for the playoff winners as the Coaches poll is........... 
We may get one last Split Title. But alas. Georgi will beat FSU like 31-3. But, you FSU fans have hope, beat UGA and claim #1, the AP might just give it to you if you can produce enough tear jerking stories. Start out about starving kids going on strike in Tallahassee for 3 weeks because they missed the playoffs.

This is good because it will give people an idea where things are set or not set in the near future playoff. Why is Mizzou playing OSU. For the same thing to see where Mizzou will be like next year. This gives you a preview for next season.

This is dumb.. you can't base next year on this year.. you have no idea how recruiting and portal will go.. along with 100 other variables

Last year TCU was beaten by Kansas State yet did not drop in the rankings. This year UGA loses to Bama and falls 5 spots.

I'll be pulling for Georgia, but I gotta admit I would enjoy the chaos that would ensue.

Georgia will absolutely pound FSU. That will be a very ugly ballgame.
