Running a two-minute offense while up 35-7 near halftime? That's running up the score.

You should be glad they tried this. 1st: It shows they respected your ability to come back in the second half. 2nd: They could have thrown an interception and given you a chance to score like they did with 26 seconds left in half vs. LSU.

I agree. These couch cowboys must be rich making big decisions each week on managing their teams....

Personally I don't think the CFP committee has done that badly; they've done the job the best their ambiguous and contradictory guidelines allow them to do.

If I were to call anything a joke, it's that ESPN weekly rankings show and the questions they ask. There is no way for the committee chairman, whoever he is, to give a soundbite answer that can truly tell everything they thought about in coming up with a ranking.

But since ESPN paid millions to televise all this, they trot out their weekly dog and pony show and give one or two soundbites that are meaningless, but fill air time and make for pages and pages of even more meaningless columns by sportswriters.

We could do without the weekly show and just have a press release with a little more info and be better informed.

Absolutely 100% agree with this. I can't even watch any of the sports talk shows or any other content that's not the actual games. It's just so... bad.

although they havne't put out a numbered list of "HERE IS EXACTLY WHAT WE LOOK FOR" I feel like they have chosen similarly every year, as I've posted many times in the threads I've started.

-First you really need to win your conference and not have 2 losses
-If you don't win your conference you need multiple P5 champs to have multiple losses

It's really kinda straightforward.

That might be the dumbest sentence in the history of the Rant.

Nope. Your post just moved up to #1. Your next post will jump it.

LSU beats UGA: UGA is out; Bama sweats it out vs resumes of Oregon/Utah or OU.

You made my point. With Bama at #5 sitting idle (like 2017) then Bama moves to #4 and Oregon moves to #5. Georgia drops to #6. Bama's in. Oregon loses out because "Bama beat Auburn who beat Oregon." That's why Oregon can't jump Bama. They want LSU vs Bama for the NC.

and 2014 is really and truly the only year you could even make a case for another selection.

And it’s not like they made a “bad” call. They were forced to make a really tough decision

That's the idiotic reason the Playoff Committee gave for not moving Oregon ahead of Alabama.
Alabama eked out a 3-0 win over lowly Mississippi State after Bama fans should be ashamed to even claim that victory.

So when did we start looking at how many points were scored per half?

Bama won the game, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter all together for a FINAL score of 38-7. Ashamed, nope.

Has it ever occurred to your brain that just maybe, these young men might have lost focus watching their QB being carted off the field. Hearing their friend screaming in pain?

No, he doesn't. He is dumb.

No I am not. Bama at #5 is the first team up if Georgia loses the SECCG. If Bama is at #4, then a big CG win by Oregon might jump them from #5.
The REC at work here.

Yeah, buddy...I'm afraid you are, and with nearly every post, you get closer to the definition....sorry.

I bet you braggin' rights that you're wrong. Oregon jumps Bama if they win out and beat a highly ranked Utah while Bama is sitting at home that first Saturday in December.

edited my OP to correct

Perhaps you should not post bitching about the committee if you don’t even know the teams in contention?
