“Obviously we’re aware of the injury to the quarterback late in the second quarter of last week’s game, but Alabama continued on to a convincing win in that, so it didn’t impact the rankings this week.” Mullens said.

“Convincing win.” Mullens said it twice on Tuesday when talking about Alabama.

That's the idiotic reason the Playoff Committee gave for not moving Oregon ahead of Alabama.
Alabama eked out a 3-0 win over lowly Mississippi State after Saban wrecked Tua's career while trying to run up the score. Running a two-minute offense while up 35-7 near halftime? That's running up the score. Bama fans should be ashamed to even claim that victory.

Lol, I noticed that the moment I heard the comment. Truthfully, this playoff committee system is one of the dumbest I can fathom for selecting teams to determine a champion. Lets get random 13 people in a room, and through a secret ballot decide who gets to play for a championship. There's no transparency, the criteria for choosing the participants change day to day. No one is held to account for anything decided. What a great idea!

Well, it let Bama in the back door once, and is poised to do it again. I can't fathom why they have Georgia at #4 any more than having Bama at #5.

I agree it's pretty terrible. Just bring back BCS and take top 4.

BCS (compared to CFP Poll)
1. LSU (same)
2. Ohio State (same)
3. Clemson (same)
4. Georgia (same)
5. Alabama (same)
6. Oregon (same)
7. Oklahoma (+1)
8. Penn State (same)
9. Utah (-2)
10. Florida (+1)
11. Minnesota (+1)
12. Michigan (+1)
13. Baylor (+1)
14. Notre Dame (+2)
15. Wisconsin (-3)

So the results would be the exact same huh? I conceptually prefer the BCS system to a committee system myself, but if the results are basically the same, they aren't going to overhaul it.

BTW: Where did you get these BCS rankings?

you realize the rankings right now are irrelevnat right?

UGA v LSU
OSU v PSU and Big 10 CCG
Oregon v Utah
OU vs Baylor

That is going to determine the playoffs and bama aint in it. There is truly no need to worry about the rankings until all of the above play out

The 3 most “controversial” teams that the committee has ever put into the playoffs cumulatively went 4-1 with 2 National championships

2014 Ohio State
2016 Ohio State
2017 Bama

I don’t know why people act like the committee hasn’t worked out
