Honestly, I never knew who the man was before he arrived as head coach at Sasnakra. I'm not sure how everyone on the board knows he is the best and most nice and gentlest and kindest and best man to ever coach a team and just a really, really good person.

How does everyone know this? It's the oddest phenomenon I've ever seen regarding a football coach. 99% of the board seem to actually believe this guy is a saint, a real saint that has been purified in righteousness and is without sin.

Was he really well known before he became the Arkansas head coach or all these opinions being based on a few YouTube videos of his press conferences? Seriously, someone fill me in. I want to know how such a large amount of posters know him so intimately as to be able to make such high pronouncements about his core, his very being, when they likely have never met the man and probably just recently found out he even existed.

Wait a second, fat people can't be made fun of now? He is huge; that has always been funny since the beginning of time. Fat people are hilarious.

What is going on around here? How do all of you know him so well? Let's be clear about something concerning football coaches. No matter what kind of good 'ole boy show they put on for the cameras, most every football coach in college or the NFL has had a mean streak somewhere in their personality at some time.

That is what makes them gravitate to football. Football is a game played by tough men that do bad things on the field and usually are alpha-male personalities that like to dominate.

It takes what many would consider bullies to keep them in line many times. A whole lot of coaches put on a golly, aw-shucks show for the interviews and then go out on the field and strike fear into the type of people who many times don't respect anything but that type of personality.

Even meek and mild seeming Lou Holtz was known to be an a-hole a lot of the time. I'm genuinely curious how a consensus has seemingly been reached in so short a period of time, 4 games, that Sam Pittman is basically the best, most moral, decent, ethical, and honorable man to ever come down the pike in our whole lifetimes?

My comments were aimed at your fixation on his weight. Seems you have a problem with big people, must be from something bad in your past.

The dude is fat as hell; it's an observation. If he weighed 90 pounds, I would mention that too because it would be out of the ordinary.

I get that you are likely huge yourself and that is why you are trying to link anyone that laughs at fat people to having been molested by a fat person but, that is ridiculous.

He is huge; it's funny to see people that have no personal self-control, due to weakness of personality, flopping around doing stuff. When they lose their breath just standing up, it's funny. When I see a really fat person sweating inside at room temperature of around 65 air-conditioned degrees, it's funny because you are thinking to yourself why are they so stupid that they can't just stop eating so much.

I doubt he’s quite saintly but he seems like a really good fella to me. I mean I’m no saint but I personally think I’m pretty kick arse too.

He also didn’t come in blowing hard and saying things like he’s gonna hire the best dc in the land and boom chockalaka freaking Chavis is the hire- and that was Chad not even Bert who was a total blowhard.

Excuse us for being pleased after years of shite coaches, at least this one has us fighting and gives a flip. None of us expect him to be the next Saban and I believe he’s stated he only wants to coach 5-7 years more. So him bringing us back into relevancy and leaving us in a good position for the future is perfect with me.

Another thing, he may be portly but he’s still cute (one of those unicorns- we all know a few), dammit.

And finally, this is the honeymoon year- we had zero expectations really. I’ve no doubt that there will be times when we think ‘oh Sam no bad Idea’ but I’m gonna enjoy the ever loving hell out of this season because we effing deserve it.

So, stick that in your ugly pipe that goes into your ugly mouth and smoke it, you backwards bitch of a human.

Have a nice day.

It's also funny to see people with low self-esteem try to build themselves up at someone else's expense. Says a lot more about you than anything else.

Okay, so you won't say why he is universally considered to be one of the best men to ever live, apparently. This is the impression one gets from listening to the slavish praise he is receiving on the board.

Really, the only reason I'm knocking him down is to see if anyone can build him up with actual, meaningful expression as to why he is considered a better human being, deep down, than many of you have apparently ever known.

What is it? Why is he so beloved after such a short period of time? Everyone that talks about him sound like they know him personally and he is one of their long time friends.

Ed Orgeron is 59 years old and has already had 12 jobs in his lifetime, just relating to football. I highly doubt that he is "home", at a college he disliked so much he transferred from to attend NSU, if he were to be fired or a much better offer came along.

If he loses his job, he isn't just done because he loved LSU so much that he won't have the heart to go on, is he? Most people aren't wired like that; you have to have something to do.

Let's say he could make 5 million more a year than he does now, are the bonds of "home" so strong as to prevent him from providing for his family in a much more significant way? He might just turn into a heartless, soulless mercenary only out for money, just like Nick Saban, if anyone were stupid enough to offer him that type of incentive.

I mean yeah you can be a good person and a players coach while also being a hardass on the field.

Petrino was as tough and foul-mouthed as any coach in the country during practice. The problem is he was the same way to people in other areas of life, just a complete a-hole. People and former players respect Pittman because he knows how to separate the two.

He’s already coached at Arkansas for three years prior to this so our fans are extremely familiar with him.

How the frick do you go from this:
quote:

Great interview. He is just coming right out and saying he will never leave. That is a good assurance to have from a football coach, as many of them do actually have more than one job in their adult lives.

Basically, he is saying the only way he will leave Fayetteville is in a pine box. No coach has ever made this kind of guarantee before and enjoyed coaching like he seems to. He is the real deal.

To THIS:
quote:

Yeah, but this slob that coaches for Arkansas is really fat and really fat people are serious and don't just say things for the sake of saying it.

This is his first year at Arky as head coach, he has won a couple of games and lost a couple of games and Arkansas fans think he is the best thing since Broyles and Holt if they could somehow be merged together.

Fat people like to wallow in whatever spot they land in and he is getting ready to bed down and wallow and make Arkansas his permanent pit. That's why he is called the Pit Boss.

... in a few short minutes?

Are you... okay? Bipolar? Did the wife come down to the basement and threaten to divorce your arse or something? What the frick man

Not only that, but he then stayed within the SEC and went to UGA up until he was rehired at Arkansas.

People that are actually *familiar* with SEC football (unlike Alter Boy apparently) have known who Pittman is for quite a while now, and he's impressed people all along the way.

His posting in this thread simply makes him look bad, in several ways.
