Minimizing it just a skosh, aren’t you? Yeah, you just like having him as coach, and he’s good at his job. You could take or leave all those national championships, couldn’t you? Get real, retard.

You are missing the plot. I, as a fan of Alabama, really like that our coach wins NC's with the same frequency that most coaches hold practices. It's great. But, as I said, we don't exactly claim that Nick Saban is better, morally and spiritually, than any person ever born in the history of the world. See the difference?

quote:

Tell us all about creating a cult of personality, Alabama fan. Do you ever look in the fricking mirror? Bear Bryant? Nick Saban? Holy hell, you have the self awareness of a democrat.

Frankly, I don't believe you understand what is being discussed. Bear Bryant and Nick Saban are two of the best college football coaches to ever coach the game. Sure, people like them. But, we don't claim that either one of them have a moral superiority over anyone else.

They, apparently unlike Sam Pittman, were and are just normal men and have and had all the shortcomings of a normal man, along with the admirable traits.

Evidently though, Sam Pittman has not a single negative personality trait and has never committed a wrong in any way whatsoever.

It doesn't make sense how everyone is so certain that Pittman, if judging the worth of human beings, is so far a cut above everyone else that there is no questioning of it even allowed.

Very odd. No one had ever heard of this man until this year.

Now I get it. You must be one of those super sensitive little fellers. You’ve heard a few fans talking shite, and saying Pittman was a good guy, and it somehow hurt your little fee fees. It’s okay little guy, you’re alright too. Big fat Pittman won’t steal all your sunshine.

Every Arkansas fan on this board has made multiple announcements about the goodness of Sam Pittman. It's just creepy and odd. He isn't a savior sent down from heaven; he is a football coach. None of you really know if he is a good man or not. You are basing it all on him crying on television. He cried, therefore he is probably the best man to ever coach a football team and we sure are lucky to have him; he is a fighter too.

He is such a good man that he said he loves us and wants to live in the football stadium for the rest of his life because he loves us so much and never wants to leave. He wants to die here for us and with us and never have another job.

We are so lucky to be Arkansas fans.

He must have gotten mad that Sam came here from Georgia or some silly crap like that.

It's very strange.

As opposed to a board full of people going on and on, day after day, month after month, about what a good man a person is that they have never met.

He is a good man because he cries and because he agreed to be a coach at Arkansas and because he won 2 more SEC games than Arkansas has won in forever?

A few mentions of his virtuous behavior and illustrious inner goodness would have been fine but, you frickers just never quit.

A mention of "good man" is in just about every post each of you make.

I expected more from Bert... knowing the success he’d had in Whiskey. Surprised me mostly because Arkansas had usually been able to field an excellent O line and very good to excellent RB’s. Didn’t quite turn out as I would have thought.

Had he kept his drinking under control, I think he would have signed the best class we've ever had in the modern era and there was good reason to think it would continue. Instead, he showed up at recruiting visits and passed out on their couch or just didn't show up at all.

What you apparently do not know is that Pittman coached the OL at Arkansas for several years, so we already know what he's like. One reason he got the job is because his former players campaigned for him and acted as liaisons.

He turned down Saban in 2014, but left for Georgia after getting fed up with Bert, understandably. Go back and read our comments to Georgia fans and you'll see that we told them Pittman was a great OL coach and a great guy. After spending the past 4 years at Georgia, they obviously agree.

When he coached at Arkansas before, the players loved him. Now he's back with different players and they seem to love him, too. I've also seen Tennessee fans say he was a great guy from when he worked there. If that's not enough for you, then so be it.

I'm not sure where you're getting this moral superiority crap, but don't act like it's any different at Alabama. Besides, I'm highly skeptical that you're even a Bama fan. Is that you True Lefty?

I didn't know he was at Georgia until this thread started. No one knew who he was until he became Arkansas' head coach. Probably 90 percent of people who follow football, and weren't Arkansas fans, didn't know he used to be their OL coach years ago.

He just rolls around everywhere at mostly low level teams being an OL coach for a year or two and moves on. He's never held a single job for more than 2 years, except for recently at Georgia where he eeked out 4 years and once at Arkansas for 3 years. Normally, it's one year and then gone, maybe 2 and then definitely gone and he has had a ton of jobs at a ton of different teams.

No wonder he is saying he is ready to hunker down and stay at Arkansas for the rest of his career. He's probably dizzy, at this point, from bouncing from place to place over and over and over and over.

But, whatever. It seems that everyone on this board wants to make it clear that they have been keenly aware of this man's every move over the years and he is well known by everyone. Most of all though, it is to be known that he is a very, very good man. He can't keep a job for more than 2 years, except for his last gig at Georgia and three years at Arkansas, due to the fact that he is such a very good man.

Thanks, bro. I feel a fully informed posting populace makes for a much better overall conversational atmosphere. All ideas can be civilly discussed, about fat people mostly, and everyone can freely contribute.

Robust debate about fat people can help grow the eyeball count of SECRANT and draw in more interesting posters who eventually will become regular posters.

There aren't many negatives to threads like this. Enjoy your upvote.
