I mean their score is their score right? As far as I know the scores are based off of them watching that specific player every play and grading their performance on each one. Somehow I doubt anyone complaining about their guy not being on the team even watched every play their guy made, much less guys on other teams.

Lol at Carter not being on the list.
No Drew Sanders either.
No Drew Sanders either.

Not opening the link. If Will Anderson is on it, list is crap. The dude disappeared in every big game this year and most of last year. I hope he has a long and successful NFL career, but I ain’t going to miss him. He’s a stat monster but not a gamer.

Sure... and by their scoring system Carter should be at the top of the list.

Didn’t Carter miss like 6 weeks?
Agree on Drew Sanders though

I get all of that.
Just funny that the best D in the conference doesn't have one player on it.
Another team has three.
The reason so many people think that D hasn't played up to their standard is mainly due to secondary issues. Two of three players on their list are in the secondary.

So you got the game tape of every game that Carter was in this year and the guy who beat him out and watched every single play of the season for both? You have an impressive amount of free time.

According to a PFF tweet this month Jalen Carter of Georgia is the highest PFF graded defensive player in the nation..yet not on the team. So I don’t think this is based on their own scoring model.
Jalen Carter - PFF

If you have a team with 11 "A" players on it and a team with 3 "A+" players on it scattered with some "Bs and Cs" for the other 8, that is what happens. Of course the first team is the best team. The first team obviously is going to average out better than the second.

Right now they have him on their second team All-America defense.
Too much of it is behind a paywall to really see details on why Jalen isn't first team. No clue honestly.

I mean, 50 plus points to Tennessee and wide open WRs all day. How bad are those other two to three guys in the secondary if the other two are A plus?

Doesn’t really matter. I wouldn’t put him first this year either due to the time missed for injury. When healthy he’s very impactful and he seems healthy now.

That is what these guys do. They watch the coaches tape (or some copy where they can actually see the players instead of where the ball is) and grade them out. The actual game play time during the 3 hours broadcast is not that much. It's like 15-20 minutes in NFL games. So about 7-10 minutes for a player's actual action per game. You can get a player's game performance done in maybe half an hour. Not sure what kind of staff these guys have but it is very possible.

75% of those wide open receivers all day was Jalin Hyatt against DeMarco Hellams.
Kool-Aid vs Tennesee : 3 targets, 1 catch, 27 yds, 1 pass break up, 67.4 QB Rating Against
Brian Branch vs Tennessee : 5 targets, 2 catches, 14 yards, 87.5 QB Rating Against
Terrion Arnold/DeMarcco Hellams vs Tennessee : 12 targets, 9 catches, 188 yards, 121.5 QB Rating Against
Why would you let the same safety keep getting burned by the same WR you might ask?????? Well, that's one of the reasons everyone wants our DC to be fired.

I guess when you have a moronic DC letting the opposing team's OC abuse a certain matchup all day, it is not so hard to happen. I'm sorry if you are having a hard time with this and how it works but a subpar DC and easily exploited teammates can negate almost any player.
