Because these are 17-18 year olds who are making a life altering change. I guess no one was young before, and those who were made every perfect decision.
My guess is mature adults got in his ear to help him see clearly and then redecide. Fans want quick and binding decisions but have no investment other than posting on a board.

Bottom line he is dad wanted him and the money at Oregon . His mom wanted him at ND… and he wanted always to go to Oklahoma . He got caught trying to please two separated parents .

Bowen wanted to go to Oklahoma in the first place when his recruitment began, and then Riley's staff abruptly stopped recruiting him in the fall of '21. That dereliction is what opened the door for Notre Dame early on.
