Exactly... and no one will ever be able to make sense of scrapping the bama/LSU game so bama could play.... Miss state

LSU has played Alabama for 65 straight years.
It has played Florida for 55 straight years and 69 out of the past 72 years. And we get A&M and Ar-Kansas instead? Expansion sucks for the fans.

Intersting how many teams "wanted" Arkansas..

On Top of the 3 they got, OU, aggy, Ole Miss all wanted Arkansas for the most part

I would rather have Arkansas than Missouri just becuase its more of a college sports state and they care more..

Buncha crybabies in here.

A&M and LSU have played almost as many times as Georgia and Clemson have. It's a similar regional rivalry just not a non-conference one anymore.

Agreed, LSU vs A&M is a forced "Rivalry"

No it isn't.

The real problem for the LSU fan is TA&M doesn't move the passion needle. We just don't care about them. It's hard to get fired up for someone you don't think about.

Ahh, you dont think about us? That hurts. Maybe after Marcel Reed drags his nuts all over that defense again you’ll start to care.

I knew we were keeping the RRSO, the biggest rivalry game in CFB.

I am pleasantly surprised we got Ole Miss

Missouri just seemed to be in the cards since we got 2 good permanent opponents….

Not that made any sense. I guess you could go with the Big Ten model of some teams having more permanent opponents than others, but then you get ridiculously unbalanced schedules like Indiana had last year.

The tradeoff for not seeing games like Bama-LSU every year is that you will see either UGA-LSU or UT-LSU every year in its place, where that rarely happened in divisional play.

Most of these LSU casual fan dorks that look down on A&M prob prefer trying to manufacture a rivalry with the coattail riders from Austin.

We got our 3 main geographical rivals so I can't complain.

Essentially, the problem is that LSU doesn’t really have a true rival.

But LSU has created some really great more “recent “ (short term) rivalries with Auburn, Alabama and Florida.

LSU fans are just aggravated that we didn’t get any of those teams. Substitute any of the above three teams for A&M and I think most LSU fans are pretty happy.

ETA the only reason LSU did not get any of those three teams is simply because it would’ve been too much of a hardship for those teams because of their other rivalries.

You still don't get it. We don't care about losing games when we or the said opponent doesn't win it all. If we lose to aggy we aren't winning it all. And aggy ain't ever winning it all.

You get it now? It has nothing to do with 7 overtimes or reed running free.

You live for an upset of the big dawgs. We have down seasons like most programs. But its about those titles. Those seasons you can really cherish big wins against sec teams.

I understand LSU's unique situation in this conference re: rivals, but this could work out better for their fans anyway.

I think most college football fans would rather watch LSU/Bama than Tennessee/Bama. Most fans don’t want to watch LSU/Aggie

Maybe Bama didn't want LSU anymore.

But go ahead and blame Aggie for that.

sounds miserable to only care about 1 or 2 games every other year maybe, but you do you

Not all LSU fans feel that way!

In truth, LSU and Aggie is a rivalry with a history that goes way back.

I would like to see LSU-Aggie as the mutual SEC opener each season. Under the lights at both stadiums.

Then play Ole Miss on Halloween week and Arkansas on Black Friday.

LSU received three border state opponents as permanents. Excellent!

Those late 80's early 90's games were awesome to start the season. Sammy Martin? C'mon, more of that.
