you are all over the place. Just yesterday you were saying it was by Friday or Tuesday. Someone with a legit source can stick to one specific day.

I clearly said it happens by Friday and have yet to change that. Said only reason it changes is a halt in the announcement. Contract will be done by Friday. If it isn't, Chip will not be the UF coach because one side backed out.

Didn't change it once. Should try to pay attention.

Florida is clearly and hands down the best job open. It's not even debatable. Even the Rant hands down ranks it number 1 in job openings in the SEC when comparing Aggies, Vols, and Arky as well.

So yes. Florida is the best job. It's the best job for Kelly. His system with Florida recruits is hands down better than any job open in CFB, or will be opened this year. Nebraska? No. UCLA? No. Oregon State? No.

Florida is the second best job behind Bama in the SEC. Simple as that.

The coach is with his team now. The coach we’re going to hire is probably, I would almost 100 percent say is coaching his team today, this weekend, and through the end of the season, and maybe through the bowl game.

And the Gator Nation takes a collective sigh of relief that Butch Jones is not a candidate.

UCLA

Meh... could argue this would not be a bad spot for him... not to say he won't go to UF, but UCLA is a good job... they have shown that they'll pay (Mora set to earn 3.75 I believe plus big incentives)... access to recruits is as good as Florida... easier to win the conference. You might argue that the *division* is easier in the East at present, but overall, winning the conference will be more challenging at present. Florida, however, has already proven that winning the division is insufficient, given that Mac went 2 for 2 prior to being let go this season.

ETA: Florida does have that whole no state income tax thing going for it and a hell of a lot lower cost of living than LA... but it's still Gainesville... maybe a wash. Closest beach is about an hour and some change away IIRC...

who is making the hire here the AD or Spurrier? this is exactly why Kelly or no other big name coach is coming to UF anytime soon. show up to work every Monday with 200 sticky notes from Steve Spurrier covering the office door. If you dont heed every freaking suggestion he is all over the radio shitting all over your program and your cuck AD is backing him up

You are just not seeing the big picture or choose not to see it. He's making serious bank at his current job and does not have to deal with being chewed up and spit out like the rest of the UF coaches. Is it the best job OPEN RIGHT NOW? yes, but that's on November 15th, 2017. What if Jimbo took the Texas A&M job? I'd rank FSU above UF due to recent success and the sustained success Bowden had. That's a level of sustained success that UF has never seen, and will never see.

Kelly would be smart to wait it out and see where everything shakes out.

In your head, and it's and opinion shared by a minority. I'd take Texas A&M, Georgia, and LSU before I took the UF job. See fate of your last 2 coaches, what happen to Meyer, and Spurrier's surprise exit as examples. It's just not the job you think it is.

If it falls to him, no. I think he wasn't given a real shot at Texas. I'd take Strong. Just wouldn't be insanely happy about it. Better than the Norvell idea Dooley floated.

Charlie Strong will be the Head Coach at Florida, Florida Fans that are saying Chip Kelly are just wishful thinking. Foley and Spurrier have there hands all over this mess. Twitter rumors mean nothing. We'll be right back here in 4-5 years after Strong flops. Yay.

FSU and UF are neck in neck.

It was better because the ACC sucked. So easier. Now that the ACC is catching up, it isn't.

Florida has more money. Better conference overall for recognition, and facilities are about equal in being ehh.

If Jimbo leaves FSU, it paints the same entitled fan base the Florida narrative has.

Recruiting at FSU is acually slightly harder, Jimbo is just better at it than our past two. FSU went hard in Miami area, which Richt now controls. UF traditionally holds Jacksonville, Lakeland, and splits Orlando and Tampa area with FSU.

So I'd say it's 1a, 1b you can decide which is above or below.

LSU is not a better job than UF. Only LSU fans think that. LSU would be fourth behind Georgia, Florida, and Bama. Georgia is arguably second before Florida, but LSU is def behind Florida.

SEC rant is used simply to prove this idea it's only me thinking it is not correct. Many view it this way as well.

I'll put a month ban bet from Florida board on the line for this. Kelly will be the coach. If it's anyone else, I can't post on Florida board for three months. If it is, you can't.

Seems an easy deal to take, no?

You're way more active on that board than I am, I'm not sure that's fair for you. Not to mention if we hire Kelly I'll be fine not post anything anywhere for a month. I'm just trying to temper expectations because I don't think Kelly is anything near a done deal.

No clue what he's making at ESPN, but curious whether it offsets the 6M/year that he's still owed by the 49'ers. He's got 2-3 more years on that one... I could just as easily see him getting in the job hunt mode to keep his name active so that round about the end of that deal, he takes the job he wants. To UF's credit, they are a premium job opening... ND might try and pull the plug on Brian Kelly in 2018 though if they have another big let down season. There are still other high quality jobs that likely pop open in 18/19.
