Per Rivals - Auburn has signed only one 5 star in the last 4 recruiting classes

Bo Nix.
The other 5 stars from this past team were Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson, both guys that will Muschamp was able to pull when he was defensive coordinator in 2015.
The end is coming soon for ol' Malzahn. Offensive line was the biggest position of need and he signed 4 three stars and whiffed on all the elite targets.

IIRC, Auburn hasn't signed a 4 or 5 star offensive tackle in 3-4 recruiting classes. The offensive line will be really bad, again.

First off.....I can't give you any credibility when Rivals is the source. Use the Composite.
2nd....Auburn has recruited as well as they have in Auburn's entire history under CGM.
Now there is definitely a case to be made about the piss poor results of elite OL recruiting and even total bodies period...but CGM is a good recruiter.

Well there is like two 5 star OLmen this cycle. Finding big athletic humans is hard. The JUCO route is actually a good strategy for OLmen. You see how they develop physically and against actual competition.

One five star in 4 recruiting classes at a program at the level of Auburn is good recruiting? Saban/Kirby/Dabo/Orgeron in the same timeframe probably have at least 10+ a piece. Whiffing on offensive lineman for 4 straight years is even more concerning.
There's a reason we haven't been to the playoffs and those programs have.
Now that the first round d-lineman are heading to the NFL, it's not going to be any easier.

Mahlzan is lazy and feels no pressure to perform better. This was solidified when you gave him a raise after a 4 loss season where he won nothing of significance

His recruiting of OL has been a total mess. In general his recruiting has been better than anyone we’ve ever had. I would say it’s one of the reasons the BoT & AD haven’t pulled the trigger and fired him.

This year’s games with A&M, Moo State and OM are huge for Gus. Not sure the Aubies think, but if he loses 2 of those there is blood in the water.
