I can see it now. The FG team is ticked that the AD is making the pass over their actual kickers for this lady and they line up fir a FG and they all lay down...she gets the o-lay treatment and Vandy gets burned to the ground by SJWs.

Yawn.

Lots of bitching about rumors and speculation.

Moreover, no one was talking about this shitty Vandy team until now.

Last, its a kicker. WgAF, the best coach on most of our lifetimes has essentially said its a useless position.

The crying over the weakest position and most miniscule storyline of my lifetime is ridiculous

Does she suck? I don't know. She had a squib kick called. Maybe she's a stud, maybe not.

I guess we'll see.

Judging her by a scripted kick she executed well is dumb. Those thinking she isn't in this position because of Vandys position and her sex is dumb. Caring this much over ANY gawd damn PK in FOOtBALL is also dumb.

Its filled with misogynistic get off my lawn sentiment

Frankly. I don't care. She may suck, but it is Vandy football. They are lawyer U, openly as "progressive" as Mizzou without the attention

can you refute anything I posted? No, you can't. But I'll point you in the right direction. Go to Vanderbilt's football roster on their website and check out the bios for their backup punter, Jared Wheatly. Then, look through their DB depth chart and find Ryan McCord who went to St Marks in Dallas, TX. Then, go search for Alex Massad, a sophomore student at Vandy who was the starting kicker for Montgomery Bell Academy for 4 years. Finally, go try to find the podcast for local Nashville sports talk radio on 104.5 FM and find the one where Chris Lee is interviewed. Also, pay for a rivals subscription and read what Chris Lee has said about his first hand information on the situation. You can also listen to Clay Travis'interview with Chad Withrow from today. I'm not doing all this work for you. I think you can figure out the rest if you're actually interested in the truth

Everything else aside, do you actually think if she could perform a respectable kickoff they’d have had her do anything but that? Why create the whole squib/botch talking point?

And while we are at it, when did squibbing the second half kickoff become typical football strategy?

That is what Tennessee need to work on the quarterback problem! I couldn't believe Tennessee quarterback really had a great game against Missouri! Why just one game of 8?

Growing up as a tomboy who played tackle football with the guys in the neighborhood till I was 13. I understood from my older brother that no crying and complaining was allowed if I wanted to play. I didn't. I played hard and could dish it out besides taking it. I would had loved to had the opportunity to have played DI football for a Power 5 team. But forget being a kicker, I would had loved to play on the defense backfield. Would I excepted to play like the guys of course. Would have I gotten killed maybe, but I would have tackle hard too. Tackle football isn't for the weak of heart or for a bunch of pansies. I'm happy Sarah was able to play. But realistically men and women are built different and football is a brutal sport for men. It be worse for women. There is a reason why Sarah or any woman would just be a kicker. For fear of her getting seriously hurt. Honestly, if I didn't earn my spot on the team. I wouldn't have wanted a spot just because I was a girl!

They had three other former kickers on their roster last week. All of their kickers are back this week. This was not a COVID emergency. This was a PR stunt. There really is no amount of spin you can use to justify it. You're wrong.

One thing that keeps getting missed is that kicking in HS is VERY different than kicking in college. High schoolers are using kicking blocks that aren't allowed in college. It's wrong to assume that someone who kicked in HS can pick it up in college with a few days practice because it's not the same at all. Those kicking blocks make a world of difference.

Beyond that, why would the backup QB or whoever want to kick on national tv? Kicking offers very little reward and a high chance of very public failure, especially if all you've done is kick some in HS because no one else would do it.

There was a reason behind that at-least. To break an NCAA passing record. Something that actually goes down in the record books and means something.
